Howard Dean to travel the world for Democrats
By WENDY BENJAMINSON
Associated Press Writer
HOUSTON Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean said Friday he would travel next year to India, Israel and elsewhere around the globe to show American ethnic communities that he cares more about them than their money.
"We don't want them to just be donors," Dean said after addressing a gathering of Indian-American doctors while on a fund-raising swing through Texas.
"We have very strong support from the Indian community," he said. "I want to show the willingness of the Democratic Party to reach out and respect their traditions."
Dean said he would probably go to India next winter and planned a trip to Israel and other spots around the world.
Dean will be raising money for the Democratic Party in Houston, Austin and Corpus Christi this weekend. Texas, a solidly Republican state, nevertheless has provided the Democrats with a strong fund-raising base, particularly in Houston and South Texas.
"Unlike previous years, we're actually going to be spending money in Texas this year," Dean said. "We're in a 50-state battle, not an 18-state battle."
National Democrats had written off Texas as anything but a funding source, but the ethics troubles of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Houston, have rekindled interest. Former U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson, D-Beaumont, is running against DeLay, the first time in more than 20 years that DeLay has had a well-known opponent.
Addressing the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, which says it represents 35,000 U.S. doctors, Dean said his party would fight efforts to close the borders to "hardworking people" while blocking the immigration of terrorists.
"We need all the help we can get," Dean told the doctors. "We believe in welcoming people who have the nerve and courage to leave their country."
To rousing applause, Dean also demanded that President Bush "stop blocking (embryonic) stem cell research.
"Science matters a great deal," said Dean, a physician. "Shouldn't we at least first find out the answers" to whether the research can cure diseases like Parkinson's.
Dean also cited the need for standard practice guidelines to cut down on medical malpractice lawsuits instead of caps on damage awards, and pledged that a Democratic administration would cut back on Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, was scheduled to address the group Friday night, and planned to call for general reforms in laws governing medical malpractice suits. But his prepared remarks also suggested the creation of medical courts, which would be dedicated solely to medical-malpractice suits.
Dean has made headlines recently with sharp-tongued cracks about DeLay and Republican voters. On Friday, his staff tried to avoid any interaction with reporters and tried to insist that they only question him on health-care issues before whisking him away.
Maybe we could find a home for American leftists in India...
In search of voters no doubt. They finally realize that Americans are not interested in their messsage.
So...he's going to be like "the Hulk:" a disgraced doctor, traveling a world that doesnt understand him, while occasionally bursting into fits of wild uncontrollable rage....?
And there goes Howie, with his traveling medicine show, and giant vat of purple kool aid.
Seaching for foreign money (oops, how did we get all this cash?) because Americans will not support Dean's dribble.
Howard Dean is going to show India what American democrats are? LoL! That will sure make them think twice about immigtating to America. But go Howard, go to Pakistan and other muslim countries too, tell them how much you love Jesus and Jews while you are at it.
I shudder to think what comments he will make while on foreign soil.
Can you imagine the top level strategic rat meeting?!?
Hillary, Kennedy, Pelosi and Reid all tryig to figure out what to do about Dean? "He's killing us! We've got to do something! Hillary can't you take him out?!?"
"We've got to be more subtle. We have to get rid of him, but make it look like it's party business."
Kennedy : "I can invite him to a party at the compound..."
"No, it's been done already, We need a new approach."
"I've got it, let's have him tour the world. Sort of a new 'minority recruitment program'. We can get him out of the states and make it look like he's helping us. Who to say what can happen?!?"
"Great, I'll alert the networks. Let's get this going, people..."
Is he going to any "white Christian" nations?
He'll not be getting donations from physicians - because THEY DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY...and with socialized medicine being advocated by the libs, they will have even less.

Apparently the rats that pull the strings want to get Howie out of the country, so he doesn't do any more damage just before the ('06) elections -- that way the MSM can lie about how well he is doing, and 'filter' the news before it hits the US (voters).
Howie would suck the crap out of your septic tank with a straw if it would get hi a vote.
I guess Hellery has given him Bill's Rolodex of names of all the foreign campaign contributors they milked...illegal, of course, but they will continue to get away with it. When caught they supposedly "return the money". What should happen to these illegal donations is that they be given to the opposing party and a fine levied that would go to the federal government.
Your plan works for me, but Dean's just gotten another crackpot idea........I thought his JOB was to galvanize the dem base and raise money in THIS country.
Guess they think we won't notice his hysterical rantings from afar.
Actually, I suppose we need him here....as a constant reminder of how freakyweird lib/dems are......
Good idea, get him out of the country so he'll stop insulting potential swing voters. This trip booked by the Hillary Clinton travel office!
