Subject of Letter: Urgent Request: SUPPORTERS NEEDED!
Dear AdoptaPlatoon Supporters,
Because of the large number of deployed married troops asking for support, we are in need of married supporters, families, and grandparents to adopt these married soldiers. A married soldier needs the morale boost just as much as our single soldiers and by supporting our married troops, we also extend a helping hand to their families waiting here at home. Please help with this current need for appropriate supporter links for our troops. You can also be linked to more than one Service Member up to four! Since this letter is being sent to current AdoptaPlatoon supporters, you are already approved. To make our job easier and link you faster, please send your personal information (martial stats, ground mailing address, day and evening phone, any info that may have changed in your status plus the type of support you wish to extend - pen-pal (writing weekly letters/cards), or adoption (writing weekly letters/cards plus sending at least one monthly care package) to: info@adoptaplatoon.org. Put Current Supporter in the subject line.
Please let your family, friends, neighbors, associates, etc. know that American patriots are desperately needed to support our troops and ask them to sign up via our website at www.adoptaplatoon.org.
If you are unable to adopt a U.S. Service Member at this time, perhaps you would consider making a donation to AdoptaPlatoon to help us continue supporting these newly deployed U.S. Service Men and women, as well as all our deployed troops. Your tax-deductible gift may be sent to: AdoptaPlatoon, PO Box 234, Lozano, TX 78568. Your gift will be acknowledged by a letter for your tax record. We thank you in advance.
The AdoptaPlatoon management staff sends our grateful words of thanks for everything you have done in support of the troops this year. AdoptaPlatoon supporters make a tremendous difference in the morale and welfare of our deployed troops and their families. You are definitely among those who defend our Nations freedom!
CAMPAIGN UPDATE: Please note that if you were sending packages to Chaplain John Manual, he has deployed home ?. In addition, if you were supporting Susan Cothern, she has an updated list of items. Be sure to contact dee@adoptaplatoon.org for more information.
As a reminder, we have launched our newest campaign and hope that once again the Troops can depend on you to support AAPs special 4th of July 2005 campaign The Red, White, and Blue AAP July 2005 Let Freedom Ring honoring U.S. Troops. We are asking AAP supporters to send care packages and cards that reflect Americas 4th of July tradition and / or cards that would go along with our Nations sense of patriotism, and celebration of freedom. You can view the poster on our website under campaigns July 2005 Let Freedom Ring. Please contact our Campaign Director Dee at dee@adoptaplatoon.org for more information on how to participate.
Please put a smile on our soldiers faces by sending them your words of salute, gratitude and prayers and let them know they are never forgotten!
God bless the U.S.A. and the troops who defend her!
Godspeed to you in your most worthy endeavor.
I'm looking for something to do. thanks for posting this.
Here is another worthwhile organization I just found out about:
I also just happened to hear on the radio about the Veterans of Foreign Wars UNMET NEEDS program, where they provide financial assistance for emergency needs of families of military overseas.
http://www.unmetneeds.com/
Since 2003, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, through the VFW Foundation, has provided millions of dollars of support to Americans serving in harms way. As this risk continues abroad and here at home, financial demands on the families of those serving continue to grow. Helping ease the burden of our military families in need is the mission of the VFW Unmet Needs Program.
BTTT
My admiration never stops growing for those who risk all to protect us.
I will check out the site. It looks like a worthwhile project for my little first graders next year. I've always wanted to do something like that and have seen many other classes send off notes of encouragement to the troops. I hope that we can do the same.
Thanks for the info.
Every deployed soldier is a single soldier...they are away from their families, some are married, and others are not.
