Three Aruba Suspects to Be Transferred to Prison

ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Three suspects being held in Aruba jails will be transferred to prison today, following a judge's ruling that they could be held for another eight days in the case of an Alabama teen who disappeared from the Dutch-occupied island three weeks ago, FOX News has learned.

Within 3 or 4 days of this happening the congressional representative(name??) from NH's district made the somewhat cryptic statement that her 'disappearance was more than what was obvious.' Since I only keep Fox on this is where I must have heard the quote.

Just checking in. Busy weekend. After hearing Ruben Trapunberg, the Arubian Gov't spokesperson this morning, I am almost convinced that every spokesperson we have heard are a lot of Pod People, programmed to say the same thing. There is something "strangly odd" about them.

I can't help but go back to the beginning of all of this. Remember Occam's Razor?:

you know i have followed this story throughout and been gripped by it, but it has only recently occurred to me that as a Latin American Studies major i went on a field trip in 1977((i was a junior in college) to COLOMBIA (now granted colombia today is much much MUCH worse). i went from the U of Pittsburgh with a small group of students and a professor and a T.A. We stayed with families, did research for our individual projects (mine was on the political party system). we went out at night to clubs etc. My parents were the most overprotective people on the planet, i was NEVER allowed to do anything, and in retrospect, in light of this story, this could easily have happened to me. The worst thing that my father feared was that someone would plant dope on me on the flight home. The second time i went, i flew home completely alone, ahead of the group, changing planes in Medellin.

the whole thing sounds unthinkable to me now!

Does anyone know how many FBI/DEA agents are in Aruba?

Has the number of agents increased or decreased?

I wonder what their time & efforts are costing U.S. taxpayers in dollars & trained personal shortages here at home?

Sure seems like an expensive investigation and a large chunk of national resources for one missing U.S. citizen (although one is ONE too many - I pray for NH's safe return to her loved ones), especially given the U.S border situation & the War on Terror.

It certainly seems to me the NH investigation is far more than a cautionary tale/date rape gone bad crime investigation.

This whole thing is starting to smell like a fortunate poltical opportunity for the Bush administration. I know G.W. has made drug & human trafficking a priority , but still can't help but wonder.........

What are people saying in Venezuela?

How many barrels of oil a day are produced there?

Sure would be nice to have SO MUCH oil - so close to home.

Jackson fans, family, juror gather at thank-you party

SANTA YNEZ, Calif. (AP) — Michael Jackson's family and fans — and at least one of the jurors who acquitted him of child molestation — gathered Friday night for a huge party that was billed as a celebration of thanks.

The pop star himself, who has not appeared in public since his 14-week trial ended Monday, was nowhere in sight.

Among the approximately 400 people who arrived at the Chumash Indian Casino was juror Pauline Coccoz. When she walked into the casino and heard Jackson's music playing, Coccoz said, the enormity of what had transpired hit her.

"They were playing Beat It, and I almost started to cry," she said as she waited to enter the showroom. She said that earlier in the day, she had received a wristband needed for admission to the party.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Jackson's mother, Katherine, arrived to the sounds of the song I'll Be There. She came on stage at the end of the show to thank her son's fans from around the world for their support.

"We couldn't have done it without you," Katherine Jackson said as her son Tito stood next to her, his hand on her shoulder.

Others spotted arriving for the show included defense attorney Robert Sanger and Jackson's magician friend, who calls himself Majestic Magnificent.

Reporters were kept out of the showroom, and an Associated Press reporter who got inside briefly was escorted out by tribal police. Casino officials said they had orders from the Jackson family to keep all journalists out.

Tito Jackson has been performing periodically at the casino, and he had been scheduled to appear Friday night before it was decided to turn the show into what one of his band members called a celebration of thanks.

Coccoz said that when someone gave her the wristbands she decided to bring her family, partly as a public display of her confidence in the jury's verdict.

but you know the jurors I really was shocked by were those who said they knew he was a molester, knew there was a pattern, knew he slept with this kid but still had doubt.

Made me wonder what would MJ have to do to convince them he was a pedophile.

One of the men jurors was confronted on tv and looked sort of shaken. Are they all fools? Or have they totally misinterpreted "guilty beyond a reasonable doubt" or are they just reluctant to "judge" anyone.

I dont know but it is disheartening.
