TAMPA, Fla. The lawyer for Terri Schiavo's (search) husband says he's confident the long-awaited autopsy report on the brain-damaged woman will show no evidence she was abused before she lapsed into a persistent vegetative state.
More than two months after Schiavo's death ended an internationally watched right-to-die battle, autopsy results on the 41-year-old brain damaged woman were to be made public Wednesday.
Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner Jon Thogmartin said he will release the autopsy results at an 11 a.m. news conference. Attorneys for Terri Schiavo's husband, Michael Schiavo (search), and parents, Bob and Mary Schindler (search), expect to get the report hours earlier.

I bet it says nothing.
Gov. Bush should have had an independent Medical Examiner put on this case.
So.....when does the civil wrongful death suit start?
I don't really expect much from this.
To me, the more interesting question will be whether the autopsy confirms the "experts" testimony that at least 80% of her brain was simply missing.
Actually I am looking more forward to Mark Furhman's book. He's a great detective and if Terry's husband did anything AT ALL to her - Mark will find out. Medical reports don't tell you everything.
I am personally anxiously awaiting this report in hopes that they will conclude that there was abuse(if there was) and she could nab that B@#$&$# from the other side.
OKAY WHO KEEPS PUTTING THESE ANNOYING KEY WORDS ON THESE TERRI SHIAVO POSTS? You put THE SAME ONES on my post yesterday! GROW UP!
Why did whatever "journalist" who wrote this article include the above line as a statement of fact rather than stating it was a claim?
The report will say nothing. Long term care insurance companies need it to be that way. They can't have patients hanging around for years. They can't have hospice patients leisurly going through the process.
The baby boomers are coming, the managed care industry has to change the rules fast or they'll lost lots of money.
No doubt with the George Felos/Michael Schievo stamp of approval.
Too much to hope for. There is no reason to believe that would be more easily diagnosed in an autopsy than from a hospital bed.
They stated in a news conference that they would release the autopsy data that determines the cause of death. They were not taking requests from family members or pursuing any matters beyond determining the cause.
ahhh just a wild guess here:
SHE STARVED TO DEATH!!!!
I second that sentiment...
Yeah. What can they add to "death by starvation"?

The brain-damaged woman died at her Pinellas Park hospice on March 31, two weeks after the removal of her feeding tube. During the course of the legal battle, allegations surfaced that Michael Schiavo abused Terri. Those complaints had previously been dismissed in court, but the autopsy is expected to settle that question for good. The autopsy is also expected to reveal what condition Terri was actually in when she died. Her parents insisted that she was minimally conscious, but most medical... |
