And I was mad at the underwear on the head and the pissing on the Toran. This is really disturbing.

My reaction to Time's hate-America first GITMO hit-piece on how we treat one of bin Laden's minions is "so what". Then I read that they were forcing Christina Aguilera music on him until he fesses up. Now, that's effective interrogation.

Click the pic for the reality of the "torture" in Gitmo..

Personally, I think Moe said it better...

Christina Aguilera's "music" would definitely irritate me. But it indicates what girly men the Al Qaeda prisoners are that they can't tolerate her skankish gyrations. What's next on the intolerable list for them, breaking a nail?

Regards, Ivan

The prisoners are just darn lucky they are not in a British prison. 24-Hours of Spice Girls would crack even the toughest of terrorists.

You can read the entire article from Time Mag here.

A couple of quick excerpts:

Pentagon officials tell TIME that most of the intelligence gleaned from those sessions was recorded in other documents. But the interrogation log gives a rare window into the techniques used by the U.S. military, suggesting at least in this case that disclosures were sometimes obtained not when al-Qahtani was under duress but when his handlers eased up on him.
and
How should a democratic nation proceed when it captures a high-value prisoner like al-Qahtani, when unlocking a mind might save lives?

Experts acknowledge that brute torture generally doesn't work because a person will say anything to stop the pain. So what, exactly, is effective? And when do the ends justify the means?

Having read through the article I can state there is nothing that has been done to him that I would object to if it were done to me.

Gulag, indeed!!

They could have made 'em listen to Celine Dion, but that would have violated the Geneva Convention;)

Publishing classified information to the public is punishable under the espionage laws. However, we have a government where laws regarding classified information are enforced selectively. If it were otherwise, then Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and others would be serving jail sentences and paying large fines. The list of perpetrators would be very long if we enforced treason laws.

Time's "source" is obviously Qahtani's lawyer.

How about a duet of Micheal Bolton and Christina Aguilera?
Now that would be inhumane torture!

"....Listening to pop music while stuck in prison wouldn't be all that bad...."

I disagree. Being forced to listen to Whitney Houston or Celine Dion would be among the most ghastly and intolerable tortures I could imagine.

I would put them in with the likes of the Krays and other East End gangsters. Then they would know what real torture is.

Quite frankly, I don't give a whit about their "rights". They're Islamic terrorists and should be thanking Allah your lads didn't put a bullet into the back of their heads.

Regards, Ivan

"... Nevertheless, the log shows that interrogators poured bottles of water on al-Qahtani's head when he refused to drink. Interrogators called this game "Drink Water or Wear It."

That's my USMC alright!
