Maybe you didn't see my tag line on that post.
Look, most around here, and I dare say around the country, do not agree with the existence of things like Black History Month, The Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, Affirmative Action programs, college quotas for minorities, Emily's List, Take your Daughter to Work Day, BET, NOW, and on and on.
Why would the creation of a Black Music Month be anything different?
It's "irrational, irrelevant and inconsequential."

I wonder if it's going to be another trollish weekend. The muggies might keep me around and trolling could be just the thing.

so if it is irrational, irrelevant and inconsequential, why are you making such a big deal out of it? If it were truly irrelevant to you, you wouldnt have commented nor would you have responded to it.

I meant the programs and organizations are I, I and I. Really I just wanted to get a Seinfeld line in.

What's your address? I'm coming over and I'll bring my own plate and fork! You'd all be welcome, FRiends! Seriously, I'm a garden variety Southern Whiteboy, and the first time I heard about soul food, I thought, "What's the big deal? Sounds like every Sunday dinner my Grandmother ever made."
When I was growing up, it wasn't just poor whites who ate like this, although we certainly qualified as both poor and white. Everybody, rich and poor, black and white, ate homegrown vegetables and chicken fried steak and BBQ ribs.
It's not "Soul Food." It's just "Good Food."
