I deeply disagree with your statement "Bush lied." Had you uttered such a remark in a court of law, the judge would've been compelled to order the jury to ignore it.
Your readers should receive similar instructions. Here's why.
A brief examination of the public record reveals a significant number of government officials -- American and foreign, elected and career -- who stated that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and was a threat to world peace. A few of them would be:
President Bill Clinton -Dec. 16, 1998, in an Oval Office address to the American people explaining why he ordered a new bombing strike on Iraq. Two of his supporting statements were that Iraq possessed WMDs and Saddam's continued presence in power was a threat to world peace.
President George W. Bush in a September 2002 speech to the United Nations. Basically reiterating what Clinton had already said, Bush added, "It is time to act." Following this speech, Bush agreed with Secretary of State Colin Powell's recommendation to seek a U.S. Senate vote of support for military action in Iraq.
Sens. John Kerry and Paul Wellstone, in October 2002, on the floor of the U.S. Senate. In the Senate debate on Bush's request, each senator asserted that Iraq possessed WMDs and the world would be better without Saddam in power. (While Wellstone disagreed with Bush's course of action, he never once alleged, asserted or suggested that the president was lying.)

William Cohen, who was defense secretary during the Clinton administration, testified before the 9/11 commission. Asked why the Clinton administration had bombed the Al-Qaida factory in Sudan, Cohen said, "because the Al-Qaida/Sudan management team was seen in Baghdad meeting with the Iraq officials known to be in charge of Iraq's WMD program."...

Thanks for the suggestion. Although I find that I have access to perfectly good articles right here on FR--and no print media can compete with FR when you're in the mood for a good troll ZOTting!
Am I dreaming or did Cohen and Mad Maddie really make the rounds of all the Sunday talk shows toting a 5 lb bag of sugar to demonstrate how dangerous Saddams WMD were?
GREAT LINK...NEED TO SAVE THIS.
The NY Post is also a fun paper to read, especially when they tear into the RATS, and their headlines are usually pretty funny.
You got that right!
So I have heard -- though I have never seen the paper. I suscribe to the WT Weekly, but I sure miss reading it daily!
Pathetic and annoying to those of us who are able to tell the difference between "We report, you decide" and brainwashing.
Unfortunately, though our numbers are growing, the MSM still wields considerable power to brainwash many millions of Americans.
HST, I beleive the MSM is on a path of self-destruction, and ultimately, the truth will prevail.
There is no hope for the mainstream media.
They've circled the wagons and bolted the doors -- locking all the talent and ability on the outside. So there's nobody to pull them out of their downward spiral until those with lifetime jobs retire -- in say, twenty years. But by then, it'll be too late for them.
Journalism and teaching should not be dictated by union seniority rules; merit is not an option -- it is vital to the undertaking.
