Senate Democrats will not allow a vote on President Bush's choice for U.N. ambassador unless the White House hands over records of communications intercepts Bolton sought from the secretive National Security Agency, Minority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday.

Thats right, thanks for the memory.
If indeed Rockefeller said "there is nothing there" the (R)s should beat that point like a drum whilst rubbing Biden's nose in "Executive Privilege"
Biden will lose it like Jack Nicholson on the stand in A Few Good Men

I think what the Dems want is the info given to Dems who will then find a way to twist his words, and blab it all over, wherever it does the most damage to US!

I have a feeling the Dems are going to have this blow up their face real bad. They are doing exactly what the BFEE (Bush Family Evil Empire!) fully expected them to do.
I don't know exactly how its going to shake out, but in the end, they're going to be standing there charred and smoking, like Wile E. Coyote, Suuuuuuuuuper Genius.

with what votes? McCain and his gang of 7 are not going to change the rules for Bolton.
Ocean,
I think that's my point. This is as good as time as any to attack that coalition- the least you do is let guys like Dewine, Graham, Warner feel the pressure of voting against the President- on an issue not as vital as the Supreme Court.
It is a test run, if you will. You've got nothing to lose, just Bolton. Fine. Alan Keyes, next.

Reid could look at the same information the Intelligence Committee has too. He's an ex officio member of the Intelligence Committee (as are Sens. Frist and Warner).

Might as well leave it open. Congress voted to cut UN funding which is just fine with me.

Hey Reid, guess what?
You and your little party of socialist traitors can't be trusted with sensitive info. PERIOD!
Yeah, not like Shelby.

Loud mine,
All of them! Back benchers all. No semblance of the old Dems legislators, LBJ, Rayburn, O'Neill, Mitchell.
Reid, Dean, Pelosi, Boxer- all 3rd string.
Never been an opportunity like this for GOP. Better take advantage now.

Actually, just leaving the post vacant for a year or so would be my first choice. Send over a dishwasher from the White House kitchen whenever we need to exercise our veto on the Security council.

The idiot Reid is really starting to get under my skin. We've missed our chance to make a strong run at undermining El Baradei's reappointment because of this delay. We need Bolton over at the U.N. months ago. Something is going to have to give here.....and it shouldn't be the prez.

I find it interesting that the Dems are afraid of having this Bolton filibuster called a filibuster. Guilty conscience?
