Bush to Try to Clarify Immigration Stance

WASHINGTON - In a meeting with members of Congress, President Bush said he needs to do a better job explaining his position on immigration changes, House Majority Leader Tom Delay said Wednesday.

"He admitted he hasn't done a very good job in being clear to the American people where he's coming from, and he's going to try to do better," said Delay, who attended the White House session where the president discussed his legislative agenda.

[ "He admitted he hasn't done a very good job in being clear to the American people where he's coming from, and he's going to try to do better," said Delay ]

I disagree....

Bush's opinion is very very clear..
He's for the continued dumbing down of America through massive illegal alien insurgency.. ON PURPOSE.. The extreme lack of attention is a very clear message.. Or worse makeing them citzens to make the "problem" go away..

The only ones vague on his stand are morons.. True.. there are quite a few republican morons serveing in D.C... maybe THATS why he deemed to make himself clear to the perpetually clueless..

The extreme lack of attention to the Mexican border is its OWN message.. Bush being Vincente Fox's main squeeze is another but related subject.. The well thought out importation of millions of Proto-Democrats and wards of the States would be a mystery if Bush's fiscal propensitys didn't "out" him.. Kinda makes Bush comeing out for Arlen Spectre very logical..

Americas public schools have dumbed America quite well.. must not be fast enough though... Americas globalists must be in a hurry.. for a populace that will vote in a globalist agenda.. which would be very much more neat than a messy Coup D'Etat..

2006 will be a pivotal election year.

Well I disagree.

The "pivotal election year" was 2000. We hoped, after Scumbag's 8 years, that we would get a conservative, American first Constitutionalist in the White House.

What we got was a good decent man in Bush, but he is NOT a conservative on fiscal issues, he is NOT a Constitutionalist on national sovereignty issues like border control, and Bush has helped accelerate this nation into third-world status. California will have 64 million people in 30 years. There will be gridlock, few taxpayers, and a TOTAL socialistic state in CA in 30 years. The population will be dominated by illegals and children of illegals with little education other than knowing how to get to the welfare office.

So goes CA--so goes the nation.

You need to stop this "wait till next election" stuff. 2000 was THE PIVOTAL ELECTION, not 2006. We had our chance, and Bush and the other RINOs killed us.

citizenship

Crap. We cannot even ask if someone is a legal citizen? Can we bother to ask if they are a terrorist? ;) This immigration mess steams me.

The two links in #290 and #295 are clear--Tom Tancredo has thrown in the towel. He believes in an "illegal alien guest worker program".

"A better solution to the problem of illegal immigration is a guest worker program. I am in the process of developing a program that would allow employers to use temporary workers in jobs that would otherwise by hard to fill. Unlike other programs that have been discussed, however, my program would require temporary workers to return home after a fixed period of time . . ." --Tom Tancredo

Here is where we are--Tom Tancredo, the only real voice for border control, now believes in illegal aliens working here.

I got history for you, Tancredo--this nation in the early to mid 1900s became the most powerful nation on earth and the industries employed only legal residents. Your false concern that "some industries depend on "immigrants" [Tancredo's politically correct way of describing illegal aliens] is BS--let those "industries" fail! We somehow had these industries survive and prosper well before illegals dominated these industries.

Folks, let's face it. We have nobody in government--repeat nobody--that is fighting to preserve this nation, now that Tancredo has gone leftist. The explosive birthrate of illegal aliens will swamp our welfare system--it is happening now in CA, and CA will have 64 million people in 30 years, mostly first and second generation illegals/children of illegals.

As I stated in another post, FreeRepublic.com was founded to help impeach Bill Clinton. At that time, we were fighting to preserve honor and tradition by hoping to force out a felon from the White House.

My hope is FreeRepublic.com is a central part of a groundswell of freedom loving Americans who help implement a 2nd American Revolution, to preserve and reclaim the principles of legality, law and order, national sovereignty and a future for our following generations. There is no political group/party that will do this for us. The Republicans have shown us they will not fight to stop and reverse this disintegration (filibuster, border control, etc.)

If we save the nation, it will have to come from us, from a 2nd American Revolution. The stark reality is that the Republicans will never be the force to help preserve our nation.

Damn I hope you're wrong..
Been saying the same thing hoping I was WRONG myself..

Enough said..
Can't get out of my mind that John Kerry running against Bush was just a litte too convient for me.. The democrat party is full of moonbats.. but Kerry being selected to run against a sitting President "at war".. screams out to me "FIXED"... Of all people "KERRY".. with his negatives.. I already have all the tin foil I need,, and know how to use it...LoL..

I fear America is already too dumbed down to fight back..

How does the company make any money building the fence even with slave labor? There's material costs and administrative costs. Plus, we have to house them and feed them since they are our prisoners, so to speak. Medical care too, of course.

Oh, wait, let me guess. It's tax payer funded.

Alright then, how much will it cost?

Can't leave out Canada either. What's that fence going to cost?

But then when the fences are built, we'll also have to secure every square inch of ocean shoreline since they'll be taking that route (assuming the fences actually work, which they won't, they could tunnel under it, so you'd still have to guard it).
Now, what is all this going to cost? Got an estimate? I understand the frustration, but hermetically sealing our borders is not possible.

Its about priorities. Importing poverty while the welfare state is still around? Brilliant

Fine, then let every Mexican freely immigrate to the US. Problem solved.

DeLay said immigration changes must be preceded by tougher border security and enforcement of U.S. laws.

No border inforcement MUST come first or there will be a flood to get in and jump on the bandwagon

Do they think we are fools?

The "let them eat cake " government continues.
I think the real problem is that we DO understand the plan

I read the link and, while it is disheartening that he would support a guest worker program, I guess that's the compromise we'd have to accept. Unfortunately, he's still the best hope we've got.

He seems serious about enforcing it, but it would have to come with the tenets that anchor babies aren't citizens automatically. Also, the borders would have to be militarized and the people strictly monitored. America definitely isn't ready for ANYTHING like a guest worker program yet, and I think he knows that. He might have just been speaking rhetorically, like if a few things happen first then he might consider it. He definitely doesn't believe in all-out amnesty, so for that I'll stick with him.

I'm still a little pissed though.

Are we doomed?

LOL. This is FreeRepublic.com, isn't it?

Remember how doomed we were with unemployment and outsourcing in 2003? Remember how doomed we were with China in 2004? I guess we're back to be doomed by Mexico again in 2005. I don't know... Mexico doom seems so early 90s to me. Oh well, it's Free Republic so I guess all doom is good doom. This place is fonking hysterical, imho.

Wejust had a hospital close near me because illegals were not paying for care. Hundreds of jobs were lost.

A public hospital? If so, then that's excellent news, and you should understand why. Less government. Start a private one or invest in the group that will. Make some money. This is a good opportunity. (And with your new private hospital, you'll have no obligation to admit "illegals" and can charge them whatever you'd like.)

Quit trying to fix government programs with government solutions. That's called Socialism.

You sound just like the big government fans who say tax cuts should be off limits unless spending is cut as well.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Especially in the case of government programs.

If every one of us here, who has taken time to post on this subject, actually sent a letter to the White House, he may finally get the message. Or....send one to Ken Mehlman at the Republican National Committee. I did recently.

Our conservative talk show hosts across the country are voicing our disgust at the Republican party for their cowardly stance on illegal immigration and we need to hit our party harder than we have. Our talk show hosts are getting it out there for us and we need to do our part.

That's nice. I thought you were looking for the answer to the problems. Not more government solutions. My bad.

Your faith in government is pretty fierce for a self-described "conservative".

EMTALA is only for Medicare-participating hospitals, fwiw. But you should be supporting its repeal as well. Not blaming immigrants for taking away your socialist programs.
