WASHINGTON - In a meeting with members of Congress, President Bush said he needs to do a better job explaining his position on immigration changes, House Majority Leader Tom Delay said Wednesday.
"He admitted he hasn't done a very good job in being clear to the American people where he's coming from, and he's going to try to do better," said Delay, who attended the White House session where the president discussed his legislative agenda.

"Would you then support a program that lets any Mexican citizen freely come and go from the US (as we freely come and go from Mexico)?"
First of all that isnt remotely what the administration is proposing. Secondly youre proposing to do it ass backwards. When we get rid of the welfare state, secure real property rights, and mexico and canada do the same, then we can talk about such a set up. As of now hell no I wouldnt support that. Not with the mexico we have now, not with the canada we have now, hell not with the US we have now.
The President is just trying to stop the uneven development within the North American continent. Bringing Mexico's poor out of the region will permit Mexico to function much better as a nation. All globalist recognize this.
As Americans, we must be compassionate and willing to help our neighbors develop. At their meeting in Waco, Texas, at the end of March 2005, U.S. President George W. Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin committed their governments to a path of cooperation and joint action.
All three countries face common security dangers, from terrorism to drug trafficking to international organized crime.
Understanding why we don't need to close our borders yet? Because we are protecting Canada and Mexico also.
As liberal democracies, the governments also share common principles: protecting individual rights, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring equality of opportunity for their citizens.
We should be proud to be such wonderful neighbors. Now that we know upholding the rule of law, and our safety is a prime concern of Mr. Bush, we can go back to watching the soap operas and relax. I'm proud of the Constitution obeying leader we have.
Excuse me, I'm feeling quite ill.
So far as *any* one country having unlimited access to a US guest worker program ??? NO
I still believe in "the melting pot" & think all should be able to LEGALLY immigrate to the US.
I was not aware that Americans could so *freely* live, work, own property, etc in mexico, without proper immigration papers.
Not according to post #30. That member stated Tancredo is a turncoat and reversed his stand.
I say I will believe that when I see proof. Give us links and proof! If so, we have lost the only real voice on border control.
I just receiveda questionnaire from Elizabeth Dole, head of the Repub Natl Leadership Committee. I returned the questionnaire with the following comments:
1. The fact that illegal immigration isn't even on you list of 'concerns' speaks volumes.
2. Surrender is not a winning strategy.
Not antoher dime, not another vote until Republicans stand up and address these issues. I won't hold my breath.
Americans cant own property in mexico.
And many are preparing to answer the call.
Guest worker, my ass!
What about all the "guest welfare recipients"?
What about the $2 billion dollars set aside for reimbursing hospitals due to the "guest hospital visitors"?
What about all the "guest criminals" in our jails?
I for one am tired of reading about the latest rape or murder by a "guest raper" and "guest murderer".
There should be no disagreement then, for so far as I know all DeLay is doing, *is talking*.....also.
Are you sure about that? I never heard that before. If true, I am even more pi.....ssed.
You could not be more wrong.
Bush has made it as clear as can be that he could care less about national sovereignty. It would not surprise me to see Bush order Taco Bells and rest stops be built on the border, and have an agreement with Fox to build a superhiway linking Mexico with America's heartland.
If you think Bush has not communicated his ideas clearly regarding the illegal alien invasion then you have a serious reading problem. I have watched this issue closely since Bush's 2001 Inaugural and Bush has been as clear as can be that he believes in a borderless America.
Yes, I know.....should of used /sarcasm.
I was attempting to answer the somwhat "un-clear" question in 188.
BTTT
This is where the guest worker card comes in.
Sounds great, but how is a card in their pockets going to stop others from coming in? And wont the ones coming in without this card, work for less than those with a card? If I am not mistaken, an entire industry has been created to produce fraudulent documents for undocumented workers. What would stop them from doing this? What would stop an employer from hiring those without the cards, that would work for less money?
What he's gonna do? Rename his guest-worker program with something the sheeple will understand, like entry-and-exit program?
The problem with his guest-worker, or "entry-and-exit", program is that it's all entry and no exit. Once the aliens are allowed to come in, they will not want to go back, nor will anyone be able to make them go back.
And what about the children of these illegal aliens who are born on US soil? I bet you they will become automatically US citizens.
Now there is a slam dunk for you. Bet all you want. Bet the farm!
The birthrate of the 15 million illegal aliens will be explosive. The number of Mexicans here will exceed the number of nonMexicans in short order due to the high birth rate. Third World here we come. China will rule the world. Why? Because they guard their borders.
Read it for yourself.
