So a few days ago, google wouldn't change their typeface to honor Memorial Day. But FL Wright's birthday sure is important isn't it?

Frank Lloyd Wright

Could it be that Google is used internationally? Memorial Day is purely an American Holiday. Frank Lloyd Wright is known internationally as an accomplished architect.

Google did recognize the Chinese New Year. I don't think thats a purely American Holiday. Is it?

This is very distressing. I love Google. I have the Google bar.

No Memorial Day, no Veteran's Day, but some fruity@ss days I've never heard of.

Dammit Google, why you gotta be an ungrateful bunch of bastards?

I'm going to have to leave. It's going to be hard.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Excellent, though ominous, point.

One of the longest rants I have ever heard was from a builder when Frank Lloyd Wright's name came up. The builder is a pretty artsy guy (gourmet cook, works a lot on historic homes, etc) but definitely not a fan. LOL I guess most of FLW's houses were poorly constructed and are now falling apart.

A little too much form and little too little function.

I'm not biting. From looking through the various logos Google has had in the past, it's pretty eclectic, but all of them are for purposes/holidays that can be considered celebratory or lighthearted (including 4th of July). None of them are for holidays that would be considered overly serious, and I think with good reason. Someone is bound to get annoyed if Google starts doing their cutesy, pastel-colored cartoon logos for holidays that are meant for reflection/rememberance (i.e. Memorial Day).

Nor purely Chinese. The Chinese New Year is celebrated in many places besides China.

I suppose the international aspect might have something to do with it. It seems strange however that they would recognize it in th UK though.

No Memorial Day, no Veteran's Day, but some fruity@ss days I've never heard of.

Why you gotta dis my fruity ass days. These days are in place to promote ass awareness, as well as fruitiness, and as for me and my fruity ass, I am all for it.

Why you people keep trying to deny us our own happiness.

You already poo pooed gerbil day.

No biggie.

Google is run by the usual suspects that have no respect for the country that enabled their success. AND isn't charging them userous tax rates in retribution for said success.

So what, they're no different than the mainstream Dimocrat party. Consider the source.

As an aside, I live in Lakeland,FL where a portion of the FSC campus was designed by FLW. They give tours and are all la de da about it. Having been through it many times and driving past it every day, I have never gotten what anyone sees in his work. The hallways are low ceilings, the buildings are musty, and the style nothing special.

All that aside, do I really give a crap what anyone at google thinks??
