So a few days ago, google wouldn't change their typeface to honor Memorial Day. But FL Wright's birthday sure is important isn't it?

LOL...desperately searching to be offended. Sounds like you've got liberal victim issues. No kidding, I don't understand making the Google Artwork your Waterloo.

Just following up the Memorial Day thread. LOL, seems you've the liberal habit of "assigning labels" I know what you're doing, I read your post. And it sounds to me like someone looking to be offended. It is private company that didn't celebrate a holiday in the way you like. So what. I dislike 'conservatives' who try to tell private businesses how to decorate for the holidays.

I'm sorry, I didn't notice mentioning how offended I was. Please accept my apologies.

You certainly
seem that way to me.
Oh well.
To: Slicksadick
If you are not offended by it, why are you posting a Vanity (under news by the way)?
This is even more odd.

just fyi, Google is not a private company. I meant private versus public (goverment). I did not mean to imply that they were privately held rather than a publically traded company.

I posted it because I thought the previous thread (on which I didn't post) had valid points from both sides. I felt this was confirming some of those points just a few days after that thread was active. Sorry for including it in the news column.

Google's best point was that the logos are meant to be light and fun, and making a Solemn Memorial Day tribute of of their corporate logo did not seem appropriate.
To: Slicksadick
Many here remarked on the previous thread that is was strange that Memorial Day wasn't noted.
Google wouldn't want to offend their international left wing, anti-American users by honoring those who fought and died to give them the right to treat them with disrespect...or no respect at all. God Bless our Troops.

Indeed so - The poppy emblem was chosen because of the poppies that bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their red colour an appropriate symbol for the bloodshed of trench warfare.
