Any news on Ohio House District 2 out there?
Me

Just wondering if there was any news so far this week.

It seems as though things are very tight and getting nasty.

DeWine seems to be attacking McEwen. Like I asked before, are the polls showing something? DeWine is attacking the check bouncing stuff. Brinkman's folks are attacking on the carpetbagging stuff and deservedly so.

The Club for Growth is on the attack against Jean Schmidt for raising taxes during his stint in the Ohio House. I have said this before, but these Ohio state legislators crack me up. They ran promising not to raise taxes (remember all the Taxin Tim ads), then they raise taxes (temporaily err permanently). Then they want a higher office! No thanks.

Right, Deters selected Steve Adams (nicknamed "Buttboy") to be the State Representative from the district. Tom Brinkman ran anyways and beat Deters and his Buttboy. Deters has held a grudge against Brinkman ever since then.

Joe Deters should worry more about staying out of any further legal problems and less about trying to pick our Congressman. The only thing Deters brings to the DeWine campaign is that he makes DeWine look ethical by comparison.

Why would you vote for someone who has such a poor record on taxes over a candidate who has voted against raising taxes 100% of the time. Brinkman is the only one of the 4 major candidates who has never voted to raise our taxes.

BTW, Schmidt has fallen to a solid 4th place in the latest polls. Brinkman is now leading. Why not vote for the guy who is leading DeWine?

Give me the facts man. Brinkman at #1 in the polls. I do grant that he has surged in the recent week. I sure wouldn't mind seeing a Congressman Brinkman. My guy is McEwen but any of the three other candidates will be just fine for me. Although I will not be happy if we have a Congressman DeWine. So tell your Republican friends to vote for anyone of the three major candidates besides DeWine and I think we'll be alright.

Where has there been a poll? I have not heard of one or seen one in the media.

None of them have been made public. I've been aware of some private, though independent, polls that have been conducted which showed Brinkman pulling ahead.

At the same time I caught wind of those polls, DeWine and McEwen started running negative ads against Brinkman, so clearly their internal polls are showing the same thing. McEwen's people love to run around saying Tom has no chance of winning. If that's the case, then why are they running negative ads against him just 3 days out?
