Abercrombie and Fitch and its subsidiary Hollister have shown an unusual degree of anatagonism to the name of Christ and an unusual display of wickedness in their promotions.
In protest, we will not allow articles of clothing displaying their logos to we worn, carried or displayed. (even if covered or masked in some way)

I don't think A&F still puts out an X-rated catalog for our teenagers, but they have in the past.
Here is a link: (CAUTION, NOT SAFE FOR WORK)
http://www.othercrap.com/abercrombie.htm
This shows some of the pictures in past catalogs.
This is one of the things that resulted in moral outrage against A&F. They also had an "advice" column for teenagers that did not quite hold up to traditional family values.
According to Acts 1:21 and on
Acts was written by St. Luke, gospel writer.
St. Luke did not meet Jesus in person.
Hope my wife doesn't find out ... I'll be out another $5,000 for new clothes for her ...
No silly, the fact in question is whether Liz was on the Oprah show and said what you claim she said. It is either true or false. That is a provable fact one way or the other. I do not claim a website is proof, although the numerous websites are a good indication of the truth of the fact in question.
Well I'll be darned---I have read thru this thread on BJU to see if mention was made of their art collection. My husband and I visited their museum a while back and found it really strange that we had never heard of it before. The collection of Christian art and Russian/Greek orthodox icons is fabulous. We also were somewhat amused, being Catholics and knowing the anti Catholic attitude of BJU, that many of the paintings were of Madonnas and Catholic church patriarchs. I know some very fine people who are BJU graduates and they would be a credit to any university. Their religious beliefs differ from mine but I admire their serious approach to things that we are all concerned about. Like has been said, their university, their rules. Just like Free Republic.
I'm not a Biblical scholar, but if you read the above passage in context, they were discussing who would replace Judas, who was one of the original 12 Apostles.
You are again lying. You did exactly what you say you didn't. With no explanation or attribution accused her of supporting the church of satan.
CyberAnt "The reason Bob Jones U. did this is the same reason that I don't purchase Liz Clairborne clothing .. Liz supports the church of Satan." (emphasis added)
Both are exact quotes of yours.
Your post is appreciated. I'm glad you visited the university and saw for yourself first hand what it was like.
I graduated from there - and while MUCH is made of the anti-catholic stance.. it really was not brought up much that I can remember.
The art museum is truly inspirational don't you think? One of the many things I brought away from the school was a vast appreciation for the fine arts - whether it was classical music, the art museum, Shakespeare and opera!
Don't y'all think you could agree to disagree on this. Obviously you both have strong feelings on this issue - but as someone posted - you won't be able to change the others mind..
Unfortunately not. This is one of those matters where we can't both be right. It either happened or it didn't
There are many people who read this site and these forums. I do not think obvious falsehoods should be left unchallenged. I woke up today to CyberAnt continuing to insist on this thread that Liz is a supporter of satan. I think I'll keep making sure people who read this site see the full picture.
I am not the one claiming that someone else supports Satan. That is a charge that should be leveled lightly, it should be reasoned and backed up with facts. (she can believe it all she wants...if she wants to spread it here, I have a problem)
CyberAnt believes this because she read it or heard it somewhere...unchallenged.
opps, left out the "not".
I just don't see how their ban on interracial dating supports this. What "race" would I have been considered there? There are only 3, right? The Spanish are kind of a mix of races to begin with, so am I basically an abomination in God's eyes? I think folks have confused the Bible and purported teachings on interracial marriage with the Bible and teachings on interfaith marriage (which I personally don't think is a good idea, especially when raising children).
What they ought to know, which their hierarchy will never tell them, is that those of us BORN TO PROTESTANTISM are NOT heretics!
You gotta' be a Roman Catholic first before you can become a heretic.
We are also not pagans, and most decidedly we are NOT "separated brethren" since that simply means the fellows who think they have a separately established but otherwise authentic Catholic church, and they, themselves, are not considered Protestant.
For the most part Protestantism claims the exact same Apostolic origins as the more formal rites whether they admit that claim or not. Some Protestant groups, e.g. the Mennonites, claim a superior position when it comes to Apostolic origins. Then there are the others that seek to simply re-establish the First Century Church, and except for the hierarchy thing, have the same theology as the Catholic groups (except for the use of "debtors" rather than "trespasses" ~ which I think ends up having more to do with the so-called Protestant Work Ethic than anyting involving religion).
After that it becomes quite complex, but as Jesus said "In My Father's house there are many mansions."
And so there are.
They don't want to run the risk of the government ever being able to come in and tell them what to do because they accept government money.
I can understand that concern. What the government pays for, they want to control and government control of a religious institution is not acceptable IMHO.
Regular demonstrations of this are conducted by immersing people in 28 degree salt water. Sami can live for several hours. Everybody else dies pretty quickly.
That's all the difference anyone needs to test!~
Bob Jones probably interprets "burnished bronze" and "hair like wool" differently than most of your AME preachers of course!
When ol Gustavus got done with the German States they had about 100,000 men left alive, with several million widows wondering about.
I think I'd rather attend a college not named after a mass murderer.
They have dropped the ban on inter-racial dating when they realized it was one of those type "old fashioned" rules that kept people from hearing the true message of the university.
It was a ban that was put into effect many years ago, and had been such a "non-issue" with the school that it was basically non existant anyway.
By the way .. the ban had nothing to do with any race being an abomination in God's eyes. While I was there we had students of mixed races - all races.. as students there we all managed to get along.. :)
Unfortunately, Hyles Anderson College--I think--still has such a ban in place.
