Well I'll be darned---I have read thru this thread on BJU to see if mention was made of their art collection. My husband and I visited their museum a while back and found it really strange that we had never heard of it before. The collection of Christian art and Russian/Greek orthodox icons is fabulous. We also were somewhat amused, being Catholics and knowing the anti Catholic attitude of BJU, that many of the paintings were of Madonnas and Catholic church patriarchs. I know some very fine people who are BJU graduates and they would be a credit to any university. Their religious beliefs differ from mine but I admire their serious approach to things that we are all concerned about. Like has been said, their university, their rules. Just like Free Republic.
Your post is appreciated. I'm glad you visited the university and saw for yourself first hand what it was like.
I graduated from there - and while MUCH is made of the anti-catholic stance.. it really was not brought up much that I can remember.
The art museum is truly inspirational don't you think? One of the many things I brought away from the school was a vast appreciation for the fine arts - whether it was classical music, the art museum, Shakespeare and opera!
