The two suspects arrested in connection with the disappearance have just been charged with murder, homicide and kidnapping leading to homicide.

This is just another get over on America by the arubian politicos. Maybe they will have them attend gender sensitivity training once a month. We will not see justice prevail on this case. 1. why the 3 students she hooked up with behind the lighthouse on the beach were not charged

2. the security guards who kidnapped her and how they were wearing uniforms, but not from her hotel. and how her 3 island "boyfriends" ID'd them after they dropped her off outside her hotel

That additional 3 to 8 days would mean that the police are subject to an evidentiary/investigatory requirement. Remember the old saying from the movies "round up the usual suspects?" Some nations have abandoned this type of policing. My guess is that the authorities had information which justified an initial detention of the two suspects. However, in order to keep them in custody, the authorities then had to provide testimony or evidence to a judge to justify holding them for a longer period of time while the investigation continues. We have similar procedures here in this country.

Juan, I would not hold my breath on this one for justice to be truly served. I wonder why the other three perps who said they had(alleged) consensual sex with victim are getting a pass? All five should have been charged in this case. NSNR

Yes, I agree .. and for all the family and friends who say she was so level headed .. her actions do not prove that .. and I want to know where the chaperone was when she left the bar and got into a vehicle with 3 men alone .. outrageous.

Are you usually this unrealistic, even in your daily life? The girl was an honor student, 4.0 average, in a Bible study group, had just been awarded a scholarship. Based on that alone, does it sound like something that someone of that caliber would do? If she had a different history, then I could understand your presumption. But this was a very diligent girl and student. WHAT in that brief history could possibly lead you to believe that she just skipped out on the return trip? What flimsy piece of evidence do you have to support that ludicrous assumption? I don't mean to get on your case. I just want to know what you are basing your assumption on. We ALL speculate, but most of us base our speculation on the facts that are at hand, not on some WILD theory based on nothing.

That's too bad .. Wash D.C. is such a wealth of history and artifacts. Something for everyone. You just have to know where to stay. Use a reputable travel agent and you can find a great hotel within walking distance of the WH, the Capitol and the Mall. The monuments are lighted at night and the tour is spectacular. I'd go in a minute.

well since Aruba called in the FBI real quick, you'll see better justice here then in Bermuda with the Canadian girl who was raped and killed but again she was foolish, you don't hop on a scooter at 4:00 am with two strange men.....and ironically it turned out the one guy was, an illegal immigrant, he was a Jamaican bad ass who snuck onto the Island, Bermuda which has tough laws [we had fun reading the newspapers, Barbados too, tough sentences for minor crimes man, in the British colonies] made the same mistake they made in Canada with Karla Holmolka, they made a deal before they completed their investigation, they gave the guy who raped and killed the girl the first deal so the second guy, who was just an accomplice, ended up getting an acquittal and the Jamaican badass got a light sentence because he dealt first - the Bermuda police didn't wait until they got back the forensics

heck they said this week Aruba doesn't even have a DNA lab, no Arubian Gil Grissom on the case because hey one murder a year hardly warrants the expense huh....
