I was referring to sexual proclivities of the current younger generation - certainly the clothing of the past few years says porno chic is in - we were talking about the fact there was a report that this girl had consensual sex with three guys, which report has not been corroborated and anyway it appears the cops don't believe it either....at least not the consensual part.....

now Scott Peterson reminds me of one of the biggest assholes in my hometown who did beat his wife and screwed around on her and has done so many nasty things to people that I always thought Scott Peterson was guilty in part because he reminds exactly of this arrogant a-hole, it's the swarmy arrogance

I don't think the parents 'dropped the ball' at all. The parents had been to Aruba, their son had been there two years earlier.
Crime is not high there.
Ofcourse in a tourist area crime reports are always downplayed if at all possible. A surfer is never attacked by a shark, the surger is merely 'missing'.
She somehow got into a car with three men. Well maybe it was the daterape drug or maybe she was a bit too tipsy but I doubt that with an early departure scheduled she was really planning on some trip to a moonlit beach to have sex with three men she had just met.
The Three men tried to foist off the crime onto two security guards they apparently knew but the guards despite still being under arrest each have credible though not perfect alibis.
Meanwhile the cops lost alot of time in not going after the cars used by these three guys who supposedly drove the young girl home.

She probably did not envision consentual sex with even one guy and certainly not with all three. The leader of those three is the son of the Dutch Ministry of Justice official.

as I suspected, the girl MSNBC is using as "Natalee's friend" isn't a close friend, she let that slip last night when Joe Scarborough was asking her about information that came out that Natalee had in fact met this Joran Van Der Sloot two days before that last night [they apparently met in the Holiday Inn casino?] she claims to know nothing about any romance between these two but then she said Natalee's friends hadn't mentioned anything to her, wait a minute I thought you were Natalee's friend...
secondly, it was noted by the FBI agent on the program that the search is being expanded beyond Aruba, they are looking in Venezuela, the agent said it was standard procedure when you can't find a trace of someone, to widen the search but then you wonder, they know something they aren't telling?
they interviewed the publisher of one of the papers there, and there have indeed been instances of date rape drug use in Aruba as there is all over the world and her own paper has published warnings from time to time

But to answer the questions: NO. There are no official reports of drugs being used on Holloway to get her to go to the beach with three men when she had to be up early and in the departure lounge.
I think many men who use the date rape drug do not have to do it, they simply choose to do it for the sake of convenience and enjoyment.
Consider this: If the date rape drug is administered in a bar that means he has already been interacting with the girl to some degree and is not such a creep that he's been thrown out of the place or is being ignored by all the women there.
If a girl unwisely accepts a drink at a party from a guy atleast he is at the party and talking to her. He is NOT a total loser. He is simply being more efficient about the selection process from a time and energy viewpoint than the law allows.
