Cheating wife jailed for rape claim

An unfaithful wife was jailed for 12 months today after crying rape to cover up a one night stand with a stranger.
Nerete Underwood, who abandoned her husband and young son during an evening out, thenpanicked when she realised her night of passion had resulted in a missing person's report to police.
So she promptly pointed the finger of suspicion at her unfortunate lover to prevent her husband discovering the truth.
The alleged rapist, a distraught interior designer, not only spent 24 hours in a cell but then had the prospect of prosecution hanging over him for three months, London's Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court was told.
Even after his 32-year-old blonde accuser was charged with perverting the course of justice, she continued to lie for a further year.
It was only as the jury was about to be sworn in to try her that she finally confessed.
Underwood, who is now being divorced by her husband Toby, wept as the judge said her last minute plea of guilty and previous good character could not save her from jail.
"Rape is an extremely serious offence and quite rightly any allegation of rape is dealt with very seriously by police, as indeed is your allegation," Recorder Andrew McCooey told her.
"I have heard from the prosecution the impact this had on this innocent man, not to mention the many thousands of pounds that has been wasted, all brought about by your pack of lies.
"And you didn't have the decency to admit to it and put this man out of his misery," he added.
Still distressed, the Norwegian national, of Birkenhead Avenue, Kingston, Surrey, was then led to the cells.
Earlier, Joanne Hacking, prosecuting, told the court that the evening of February 25 last year began innocently enough when Underwood and her two-year-old son met her husband after he had finished work and went to a pub.
She went to the toilets at 9.30pm and failed to return. After her husband and bar staff failed to find her he decided to take their child home.
"He eventually went to bed, woke up at 5am and realised his wife was still not home. He was astounded by this and very worried."
Miss Hacking said later that day he reported his wife's apparent disappearance to the police.
Not long afterwards he received a text message on his mobile from his wife's phone saying: "Nerete is okay, but cries and wants to go home, but not finished with her here. Good **** she."
The barrister said the defendant's husband was 'obviously desperately concerned', although not many minutes after that he received a phone call from his boss to say his wife had been found outside their office and had been taken to a nearby police station.
The court heard the woman lost no time claiming she had been raped and indecently assaulted.
She went on to describe how she had left the pub she had been in for a breath of fresh air when a stranger approached, grabbed her by the hair, forced her into a nearby car and then drove her to a hotel room in Bayswater, central London, where two men allegedly stripped her and took it in turns to have sex with her.
Underwood added that altogether she was held captive for 12 hours.
Miss Hacking said the defendant went on to give a full description of one of the so-called rapists and later identified the innocent 34-year-old interior designer.
She later confessed to chatting him up in the nearby Beachcombers' White Wine Bar and admitted she happily spent the night with him.

There has got to be more to this story. Wife, hubby and child go out for a bite to eat. Wife goes to the bathroom, doesn't return and then goes on to have sex with another man that very night. Husband goes home and goes to sleep.

There are times that I'm terribly ashamed of my gender, and after reading what this woman did, this is one of those times.
I could support capital punishment in this case.
