SAN NICOLAS, Aruba - Authorities detained two men Sunday in connection with the disappearance of an Alabama teenager, who went missing nearly a week ago in Aruba while on a high school trip, the attorney general said. ADVERTISEMENT
Caren Janssen called the men "suspects" in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 18, but declined to provide further details. The men were not among the three described earlier by police as "persons of interest."
Police officers and three FBI agents, who are playing a supportive role in the investigation, took the two men into custody at two different houses in the southeastern town of San Nicolas, according to an AP photographer at the scene.
Police knocked on the door of one house, put the suspect on the floor and handcuffed him. Officers later detained a second man. They both were led to an unmarked police car and taken away.
Neighbors described the men as security guards who worked at a hotel closed down for renovation near where the 18-year-old blonde was staying at the Holiday Inn. Police and FBI agents searched the hotel Saturday.

It has very low crime, very clean, extremely popular as a tourist destination, very modern, highly developed.....I'm not sure what else you want.

As has been pointed out over and over again, there is NO PLACE safe for someone who is in the wrong place at the wrong time and uses poor judgement. Things like this happen all too often in this country, yet I don't think that qualifies the U.S. as a "thrid world armpit".
How many people have figured out she is really a slut who got what she deserved like Elizabeth Smart and Shandra Levy. This place gets lower every day.

Obviously I hate to agree with that statement but it is true. I've told my daughter NO MEXICO, even the tourist havens like Cancun. I told her she can get in plenty enough trouble in Florida.
The real problem is, something happens in a place like Mexico (and I am exempting Aruba here, because they seem to have done a good job on pursuing this case) and you are at the mercy of their entirely imcompetant and completely corrupt police force(s).

I have not found any statistics that satisfy me with its alleged low crime. Nation Master does not seem to have data for it. What I really want is for this young American girl, Natalee Holloway, to be found safe and sound. Barring that, I want everyone who kidnapped, raped, or murdered her to be executed.

Boy, things don't change much. I knew of black guys who would come down from Detroit to Ann Arbor in the '70s. They would target white college coeds and play the same game. No one I knew wound up dead, but one did get beat up and several got taken for money, cars, a free place to stay (which was the intent of the scam) for months until they wised up.
I'm black and I could tell these scam artists a mile off, but these white girls seemed blind to the obvious. It's not that I was more sophisticated than they, but at least my lawyer father warned me before I left home as to what people will do to part you from your money or your underwear.
I'm not trying to make this a racial matter.
The truth is, "rich" beautiful white females get more attention when they go missing than other ethnic groups.
Had she been a homely stick-in-the-mud dirty blonde living in a trailer, her face would NOT make the front headlines.
