Thanks for that link that not only references the bill signed in 1998 but the plan of Republicans to use Kerry's own words against him.

Very good. I hope they are forceful.

P.S. -
Oh, yeah, that will really help in the WOT....
You do not honestly think they want to help in the WOT, do you? I apologize in advance if you meant this as sarcasm.

I don't get the cooking by candlelight thing, but haven't heard much about Liddy in a long while.

Supposedly, at some point in Liddy's government career, he proved what a tough guy he was by holding his arm over a lit candle for some time. Maybe it really did happen, but I've always thought that was a BS story invented by the left to portray him as a psycho.

They were the ones that tried to upset the RNC last year and recently a speech of Condi's were they not.

Code Pink is worse than disruptive.

Not to beat a dead horse, but a few things are needed to understand the Watergate era. If possible, we have to remember the mindset going on then, not as it might be viewed today. Communism and its global effort was real then, and it remains so today even though many people don't realize it.

The FBI was breaking into offices because of the communist influence happening with various leftist organizations. There was ample evidence to prove the communists were working within many groups to support the anti Vietnam war effort, sway public opinion and to end American global dominance after Korea and WWII.

During the Watergate hearings, one of the witnesses testified to the "atmosphere in Washington DC" and the feared influence or takeover of the Democrat party by communists. Nixon, et al, were paranoid about the possibility and wanted to protect the US from that happening. The Liddy call girl excuse was more of the same but with the hope of catching the Democrats and providing another means to defeat communism.

Nixon's election win was massive and it was not a close election. Therefore, the election itself was not the main reason for the break-in as much as concern over communism and America. Sadly, it appears that communist thought and influence has infiltrated the Democrat party anyway.

"I don't get the cooking by candlelight thing, but haven't heard much about Liddy in a long while."

Liddy once held his hand over a burning candle to demonstrate his will and toughness.

I remember that now.

A little crazy, okay, but the fact is, Liddy is a tough guy and has proven it many times and not just by holding his arm over a flame.

He's an anachronism and the sort of person that someone like Kerry, Dean, Reid or any demo you can name simply cannot understand or relate to.

Therefore, they assume he's crazy.

Get yourself a copy of Silent Coup: The removal of a president by Len Colodny and Robert Gettlin. Read "Book II" called "Golden Boy".

Golden Boy is John Dean. The book claims that Dean ordered the burglary and that the goal was to break into the desk of a secretary - Maxie Wells - and retrieve photos and other information regarding a call girl ring that the DNC was using to provide entertainment to "biggies" who visited DC,

Dean's girlfriend (and later his wife) - Maureen, known as Mo - was apparently on the list of prostitutes and was the roommate of the madam.

I have the book but haven't revisited it for over a decade (it was published in 1991). It is still available on Amazon and is currently rated rather high for a book that old. Must be renewed interest.

Both Dean and Wells sued Liddy. In the Wells case, seven of the nine jurors found for Liddy, i.e. that he had not libeled Wells. The judge then dismissed the case.

I don't remember the exact disposition of the Dean case but I believe that Dean dropped the suit and paid Liddy's legal fees.

I wish I could claim sarcasm for the remark about the WOT--

I guess that I am still naive enough to believe that Americans would want America and her citizens kept safe at ALL costs...I won't make that mistake anymore after seeing this impeachment crap...

IMHO, if President Bush DIDN'T go into Iraq with what we KNEW and didn't know about what he would do, after 9/11, THEN one might have a case for impeachment if Saddam gave WMDs to terrorists..

From what I understand from my civics class a LONG time ago, the 1st, number 1 job of the President and Federal government is to keep the citizens safe from harm from other countries...

Whitman's PAC is called...It's My Party Too....same as the name of her book which was a scathing attack on the Christians in politics.

She's a far left radical on social issues.....and it's no surprise that McCain joined her in her hatred of the Christian Right.

Yes, I did listen and any one who paid very close attention to what was taking place noticed every thing taking place. Please don't get condescending with me and especially don't talk down to me. You might believe Ben-Veniste was wonderful but the name calling allowed by the putz actually did show his inability to be human or show any form of intelligence. Hey at least Liddy didn't look as if he were an uneducated buffoon. Something good did come out of this but Chris Wallace is off of my to watch list at least Russert doesn't try to hide his Liberal mindset.

Thanks !

Code Pink also raised something like $650,000 for the "freedom fighters" in Fallujah back when the US Marines were clearing the vermin out of the place. They're openly giving money to terrorists. They call it "humanitarian aid" of course, and the press is happy to spread that lie.

You ask what is the cause of Code Pink. It is to portray America in the worst possible light. Check in with some of our folks in DC.
