End Of Days: When America Falls

No country lasts forever. That’s an inarguable fact.

History reveals three primary reasons why countries fall, governments change and ways of life vanish.

The Taliban, Saddam, Nazis and many other governments fell because of war with other nations.

Revolutions brought on by internal strife, an insurgency, social unrest and disillusionment, reduced respect and admiration of the nation’s military (note that the Marines and Army are finding it very difficult and sometimes impossible to meet their recruiting goals), loss or reduction of social values and norms, and political extremism bring down some governments. Examples include Iran in 1979, France in the late 18 th Century, China in the late 1940s, and Mexico and Russia in the early 20 th Century.

Sometimes governments just quit for a variety of reasons, resulting in ethnic fragmentation, like in the case of the Soviet Union.

Perhaps you noted that America is currently suffering from two of the three aforementioned reasons why countries fall.

Right now, America is fighting a type of war–global asymmetric warfare–that has never been fought before by any nation. Our enemies wear no uniforms, abide by no rules, attack civilian targets, are in 90 countries including our own and want every American dead and the country destroyed.

We are suffering from political extremism mostly on the left; a clear reduction of social values and norms; widespread disillusionment when it comes to the war, social issues, politics, and the economy; and even some strife (a huge homeless population, high bankruptcy rate, a massive illegal alien population consisting of between 16 and 20 million people, etc.).

What makes many Americans think America is invulnerable to collapse or destruction? Such a belief is spectacularly arrogant.

History applies to all countries. According to history, we are far more at risk than what most Americans believe.

Extremists in the media (the Denver Post’s Reggie Rivers, the Rocky Mountain News’ Jason Salzman, the New York Times’ Tom Friedman, Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd; Bill Moyers, Air America’s Al Franken, Michael Moore, Barbra Streisand, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, Ed Asner, et al), politics (Howard Dean, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Rep. Barbara Boxer, Sen. Ted Kennedy, Sen. John Kerry, Sen. Robert Byrd, et al), and our collective societal commode (Ward Churchill, Louis Farrakhan, et al) are trying to dramatically change America as we know it. From their influential (upon many Americans suffering from muddy thinking) positions, such radicals fuel the flames of hate and discontent among those who are repulsed by the very idea of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Fury, frustration and disbelief replace reason and respect when these types are forced to accept major political losses and when they realize most Americans disagree with their fanatical agendas. Their shrill fanaticism acts as an accelerant in creating an emotional inferno among the followers of such would-be tyrants, which increases the chances America falling while advancing the time line for our demise.

Nevertheless, many if not most Americans, in their complacency and ignorance of history, believe we have no reason to worry; that America will always exist regardless of history and the threats currently facing our nation.

How very, very wrong they are.

Google up Washington and his prophetic dream - the present crisis is, imho, the third of which he dreamt.

The times will get worse before they get better... I'm afraid this is unavoidable because too many leftists in this country, it's fields of academy, the media, private consortiums like the Ford foundation, Soros, etc., exercise powerful and seductive propaganda that will tempt many.

But we will be triumphant, Frater... remember always; short of the return of our Lord, America is mankind's last and best hope.

They have taxed us far more than the colonialist were taxed. Sure we have representatation. But so many nincompoop socialist keep voting the same losers in and they keep enacting more, and worse tax laws.

Nice thought, but I don't see the republicans maintaining control of congress. Maybe in the house, but not in the senate.

Righties, are globalists that want to keep the military soverign to the US, and sell the rest of us in trade blocks.

Those are not conservatives at all...although they often claim they are. A true conservative wishes to preserve national sovereignty, and restore the individual liberty to succeed WITHIN the Nation. Not in a globalist playpen...with importers subsidized by the rest of us peons.

Those who do call themselves variously from libertarians to "optimists" and "classical liberals." They are of course neither. They are extremist individualist/anarchists. Who believe in their own personal superiority, Global Structures, and find it convenient (in their delusion) to embrace the doctrine of an atomistic individual sovereignty...the rest of the People be damned....

Fundamentally they are inimical to the Nation's principals (at least the original ones before they were corrupted in the last 14 years). Hence, the principles especially scorned by them are the idea that we should be a Nation OF the People, BY the People, and FOR the People.

The 2nd amendment made revolution LEGAL...

for how long?

I predict that within 10 yrs the authorities will be knocking on doors, or kicking them in.

We already have California, New Jersey, Mass.,NY pretty much violating the 2nd and it will spread as other legislatures see it being implemented w/o too much uproar.

I don't see America falling, but within 20 yrs we won't recognize it .

You sound like a wonderful person moog. My kinda guy. Much like the teachers I had when I was growing up and moving from school to school as a military brat. The one thing I could always count on beside my parents, was a teacher. Besides being brought up to respect my teachers, I actually loved school (except for one brief semester when the perfect storm* of homework hit).

Anyway, they were the same people out of class as they were in class. At the grocery store, at the games. When they weren't teaching, they were still teaching us by how they behaved outside the classroom. Good neighbors, good citizens, not running around like but a bunch of pruned-up pissed off nutjobs angry at their incredible work load,and screaming for more more more. My teachers also talked to each other, and the parents, and put responsibility for improvement where it belonged. No excuses were made as to why they couldn't do THEIR JOB, because the did their part, and the rest was up to you. Children were treated as children, not little adults.

*perfect storm homework planning: When conjugation and dangling participles meet geography essay on Albania. (And you get stuck with the Colliers instead of Brittanica.) THAT was horrid.. BORING. Excruciating. Who gave a rat about a participle.. Why on earth would I care about the exports of Albania or how to find it on a map.. Let me ask you, wouldn't YOU rather have Switzerland over Albania?? But noooooooo.. Albania, and you had to give the report in front of your own class that was glad THEY didn't get stuck with Albania. What a nightmare.. LOLOL!

Moog, I hope you are able to encourage other teachers to follow your lead, and speak out about the perception of teachers that have been brought on by none other than themselves. I for the life of me can't understand why the cost to educate a child 13K CA compared to 4K in AZ. Are CA kids getting a better or worse education for the money?? I don't see much difference, so exactly what are we paying for. I know many children young and now grown, who have done well, scholastically speaking, in the hosed up system we have now. But it appears the vast majority of attention paid to public schools, is NOT what the children are getting, but what the teachers are getting.. this is upside down. It's got to get fixed. Yes, I want them to speak and write English fluently, be exposed to art and music, computer science, wood shop, sports, math (yes, geography), elective classes in foreign language to broaden their minds, etc. I want them to feel safe, as I did, but for more than personal safety, but in that they trust their own system to make sure they learn the skills of survival in the work place, no matter where they go in life. To be independent thinkers, doers, dreamers.

While the U.S. Congress was preparing to impeach him President CLINTON went abroad to declare that all the countries of the world should be all playing on the same level playing field, that there shouldn't be one SuperPower more powerful then the rest = US.

Ex-President CLINTON publically declared that there might not even be an America around in 300 years.

Just Friday, I was leaving a client's place of business and struck up a conversation with a lady who was outside smoking a cigarette. She was there to plan a fiftieth high school reunion. She complained about having to go outside to smoke and brought up our Governor ( Sonny Perdue of GA ) as the cause of having to go outside to smoke.

I told her that I had heard a lot of dissatisfaction with Gov. Perdue over this and some other issues, and she stated vehemently that she had voted for him but wouldn't do it again.

Then out of the blue, she launched on Pres. Bush. "I don't have any use for that man in the White House -- This war is ridiculous", she said. I excused myself and went to my car.

But think about it -- if she graduated in 1955 she certainly has vivid memories of WW II and Pearl Harbor -- and that was, in my mind, not nearly as shocking as 9/11. Hell, we watched 9/11 LIVE on TV in living color, not on a black-and-white newsreel!! I paced the floor watching it!!

Also, last week, it made me sick that some idiot school principal literally in the middle of nowhere, Georgia (!!) kicked the U.S. Marine out of "her" school and prevented him from speaking. IN RURAL GEORGIA!! MY STATE!!

The ONLY hope for this country is that the generation that makes up the current military grabs the reigns of government from my stupid baby-boomer peers and starts to undo the foolishness that has run rampant since 1960.

Empires do ebb and flow. But we are not surrounded by water like Britain and our external enemies are not limited to horseback raids like Atilla was. And our internal enemies are adept at using crooked laws, judges, and lawyers to dodge the consequences of their actions.

May GOD have mercy on America.

The 2nd amendment has beCOME freedom to hunt and for target practice courtesy of gun rights groups AFRAID to say what the 2nd amendment is REALLY FOR... They say the 2nd amendment is about just "having" guns.. and are totally afraid to specify why having guns is NEEDED.. Could be because America is SO dumbed down they don't even KNOW WHY ANYMORE or are cowards or both..

AND america is getting dumber too.. Bush is importing millions of mexicans(and other nationalitys) to further dumb down america.. ON PURPOSE.. He will eventially be hailed (by democrats and RINOs) as a great president.. single handilly saving the democrat party from aborting itself to death..

The cannons that bashed down the Walls of Theodosius were just as astonishing to the medievals as nuclear weapons are today. Of course the US had nuclear weapons 60 years ago, and has an arsenal of thousands of them. I submit that a group that uses one of their first 10 nuclear weapons has a pass to oblivion, not a reasonable approach to the destruction of the US.

thanks for the insight.

My first wife decided that she liked girls better. Rather than pay alimony, we agreed that I would put her through medical school. After what I thought was an amicable divorce, I remarried and adopted my second wife's children, while paying child support to the first. I took a 20,000 dollar pay raise to move closer, so I could see the 3 kids from my first marriage more. The remarriage seemed to make my second wife jealous, and she charged me with horrible things to create a case from nothing to exhaust my finances. After proving nothing, she moved, with no forwarding address. I continued to pay child support through the state, and after 3 years of not seeing my kids, moved back to CA.

My second wife asked for a divorce. She remarried, and we remain amicable. I see the kids from my second marriage every day.

It sure could be a lot worse. I got a lot of insight into the idea that G-d could raise children from stones, if the Children of Abraham rejected him. I love all my children, but I sure get to express that love a lot more for the children of the second marriage.

The good news is my first wife is a very good mom when I am not around. My daughter is off to college on a full ride scholarship, and my sons from the first marriage are apparently fine young men.
