just thought of another one-hit wonder, although i'm not sure how big a hit this song was--but it was very popular with my crowd at the time: "All Night Thing," by The Fatback Band. and does anyone remember who sang, "Wide Receiver"? (these are dance tunes.)

Nothing matters but the weekend from a Tuesday point of view. Like a kettle in the kitchen, I feel the steam begin to brew.

Everybody gets the no-no

Hear it ringing in they ears

Lots of ways that you can go GO!

Look around NO disappears ...

I remember playing that vinyl at a radio station in little-bitty Brookfield, Mo., and thinking, "Man, this band's going far." Such astute judgment -- paired with the belief that "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John was a terrible song that would go nowhere -- explains why I'm not a station music director.

Ditto to that.

I thought the same thing. Just goes to show what what popular garbage the public will choose over something with substance.

I've still got the original vinyl, too.

Mille Jackson? Her best line from her repetoire is"My old man came home and asked me to fix him a hot fish dinner. So I slid down the bannister"!
Millie is RAW.

I did't know she was a comedienne.

That's funny stuff, and yes, if she slid down the bannister, she might well be very raw.

Freedom,All Night Thing was by The Invisible Man's Band from Spring,1980.
Michael Henderson did Wide Receiver as well as doing a great rendition of the Dramatic's hit,Be My Girl.
