Did you ever wonder what happened to some of those one-hit wonders like Vanilla Ice, Tommy Tutone and Flock of Seagulls?
NBC did too, so they are bringing them back in "Hit Me Baby One More Time." What do they look like? What do they sound like?
We tracked down hitmakers from the past to take the stage to perform one more time and you can be the judge.
For three weeks, the former Top Ten artists will perform their trademark hit song along with one of today's current hits. At the end of the night, the live audience votes for their favorites! Watch "Hit Me Baby One More Time," Thursday nights at 9 on NBC 10.
Here is a list of the performers so you don't miss your favorite!
Episode 1: Thursday June 2, 9 p.m.
Arrested Development Tiffany Flock of Seagulls Loverboy Cece Peniston
Episode 2: Thursday June 9
Sophie B. Hawkins Wang Chung Irene Cara Cameo Night Ranger
Episode 3: Thursday June 16
The Motels The Knack Tommy Tutone Vanilla Ice One Band To Be Determined
P.S. The Pixies were also amazing.
No doubt. My favorite one-hit wonder was 'One Night in Bangkok' by Murray Head
(Ok, so I'm a geek)
Oh joy..
Gad! What sort of group would let Mark Burnett choose their new lead singer?? A very desperate one I guess.
I've seen him play the drums. Not too bad.
While reading these posts, Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music came to mind. Haven't listened to their music in ages.
I don't know about other artists, but "How Long" by Ace was in 1975 (and I was going by memory - that was my senior year in high school).
Scroll down to the "H"s and you'll see it. It got up to #3 on the Billboard charts.

"Let's Stick Together" is a top track as well.
Rush
Tom Sawyer
A modern-day warrior
Mean mean stride,
Todays tom sawyer
Mean mean pride.
Though his mind is not for rent,
Dont put him down as arrogant.
His reserve, a quiet defense,
Riding out the days events.
The river
And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society.
Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift.
The world is, the world is,
Love and life are deep,
Maybe as his eyes are wide.
Todays tom sawyer,
He gets high on you,
And the space he invades
He gets by on you.
No, his mind is not for rent
To any God or government.
Always hopeful, yet discontent,
He knows changes arent permanent,
But change is.
And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society.
Catch the witness, catch the wit,
Catch the spirit, catch the spit.
The world is, the world is,
Love and life are deep,
Maybe as his skies are wide.
Exit the warrior,
Todays tom sawyer,
He gets high on you,
And the energy you trade,
He gets right on to the friction of the day.
The Associates (Sulk is a very atmospheric album
Lena Lovich (Not for My Lucky number, but Bird Song
Spandau Ballet (A great album..Journey to Glory..Though I didnt like Musclebound (honest)
Adam and The Ants (I put on a play about pirates at school a couple of years ago and feature the song Jolly Roger
Freur (Doot Doot!)
The Specials (with Terry Hall)
Soft Cell (I believe Marc Almond has recovered well from his near death bike ride)
The Stranglers (The Raven is well worth a listen to)
Gary Numan (Are Friends the electric and down in the park)
For pure pop, I would choose Ryan Paris and Dolce Vita
For weight of numbers, these boys probably would top the pop
DURAN DURAN
And lets not forget..
Kate Bush
The Human League
The Police
Or Blondie
Also agree that Wan Chung were not one hit wonders and To live and Die in La was a great movie with a strong soundtrack
Lets not forget Frankie Goes T o Hollywood
One final thought on 80s music.
The majority of the great 80s music came in a period 0f 5 years. 80-85
Even Michael Jacksons Thriller and Lionel Richies Cant Slow Down came in the middle of all this.
Pretty much after Brothers in Arms invaded the world; the Brits packed their bags and rode off into the sunset. The formula approach to music became the norm and Video killed the radio Star
Finally, if you want an album that very much sums up this time, look no further than Roxy Musics Avalon
That'll be about right. Paul did a solo album in 1980, then a couple of appearances for other group including Tilbrook & Squeeze for 'Tempted', before hooking up with Nick Lowe in '82.
Take a bow
The Smiths and The Jam
I'm all over the place with music.
This year alone I've seen Velvet Revolver, Back Street Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani and about ten others.
I had good tickets to see Snoop and others, but when the other person I was going with bailed out, I didn't go. The concert IMO would be too dangerous to go to alone.
Recently also have seen U2, Santana, Alan Jackson and Martina McBride, Manna and my city's local orchestra! LOL
The definition of one-hit wonder.
"....Roxy Music's Avalon."
Nailed that one right on the head.
"Manna"! Now that's saying something.
We are a "thousand miles from nowhere". Clubbing involves a very large stick, not that I'd actually go "clubbing" in the city.
Can't check out the concert scene. Being that my spouse is a professional musician(first call studio musician when we lived in the city), our tastes in music's quite broad as well.
Weather Report to Keith Whitley. Mozart to David Lindley. Steven Curtis Chapman to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.
Great music is a blessing to the soul. Good night.
I think it was 1975 myself.
