Did you ever wonder what happened to some of those one-hit wonders like Vanilla Ice, Tommy Tutone and Flock of Seagulls?
NBC did too, so they are bringing them back in "Hit Me Baby One More Time." What do they look like? What do they sound like?
We tracked down hitmakers from the past to take the stage to perform one more time and you can be the judge.
For three weeks, the former Top Ten artists will perform their trademark hit song along with one of today's current hits. At the end of the night, the live audience votes for their favorites! Watch "Hit Me Baby One More Time," Thursday nights at 9 on NBC 10.

Gad! What sort of group would let Mark Burnett choose their new lead singer?? A very desperate one I guess.
I've seen him play the drums. Not too bad.
While reading these posts, Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music came to mind. Haven't listened to their music in ages.
I don't know about other artists, but "How Long" by Ace was in 1975 (and I was going by memory - that was my senior year in high school).

For weight of numbers, these boys probably would top the pop

One final thought on 80’s music.
The majority of the great 80’s music came in a period 0f 5 years. 80-85
Even Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Lionel Richie’s “Can’t Slow Down came in the middle of all this.
Pretty much after “Brother’s in Arms” invaded the world; the Brits packed their bags and rode off into the sunset. The “formula” approach to music became the norm and “Video killed the radio Star”
Finally, if you want an album that very much sums up this time, look no further than Roxy Music’s Avalon
That'll be about right. Paul did a solo album in 1980, then a couple of appearances for other group including Tilbrook & Squeeze for 'Tempted', before hooking up with Nick Lowe in '82.

I'm all over the place with music.
This year alone I've seen Velvet Revolver, Back Street Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani and about ten others.
I had good tickets to see Snoop and others, but when the other person I was going with bailed out, I didn't go. The concert IMO would be too dangerous to go to alone.
Recently also have seen U2, Santana, Alan Jackson and Martina McBride, Manna and my city's local orchestra! LOL
The definition of one-hit wonder.

We are a "thousand miles from nowhere". Clubbing involves a very large stick, not that I'd actually go "clubbing" in the city.
Can't check out the concert scene. Being that my spouse is a professional musician(first call studio musician when we lived in the city), our tastes in music's quite broad as well.
