WASHINGTON, June 3 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement this morning on the Bureau of Labor Statistics' announcement that only 78,000 jobs were created in May, far lower than what economists had predicted:
"Today's anemic jobs numbers confirm that President Bush has still failed to create a single new private-sector job since he became President. He continues to be the first President to lose jobs on his watch since Herbert Hoover.
"Yet Republicans remain in denial. On Tuesday, the President declared that he is satisfied with our economy and that 'our economy is strong.' But Democrats are not satisfied. And more importantly, Americans are not satisfied.
"Republicans' failed economic policies are making the middle- class squeeze worse, and may jeopardize America's long-term competitiveness.
They say the eyes are the window of the soul.
See anything in there?
LOL...I thought the same thing. They both have "The Look."
The lights are on, but no one's home.
The president is NOT a contractor. He is President of the United Sates. He does NOT hire people.
This bitch is brainless.
She is disgusting. Grasping at straws.
Ignorance. Pure ignorance, but sure to be repeated over the next month. (I bet Kondracke will harp on this). This number will also be revised upwards. Of course no mention that undemployment rate went down!
I'd like to know one single positive thing she did while in Congress that has helped the economy...
very funny - goatee. She's a bag, anyway. Up to Hillary's tricks, also. Blaming as a tactic. It won't work.
Ol' Sharp Cheeks..... one too many times on the operating table.
She was recently heard to say" Since I sold all my horses the only one left is dead, but I'll beat on it anyway"
In her case the adage about not judging a book by its cover is misleading and should be amended. ;)
Since when did it become the job of the president to 'create' jobs? I thought that was for the private sector to handle. When the president starts to 'create' jobs, it becomes too close to communism and I'm outta here.
S-D,
"...President Bush has still failed to create a single new private-sector job..."
Considering that the President has not founded any companies during his term, how would he have created jobs?
She's lying. Bush didn't lose jobs during his first term.

She is the fool.
Unemployment is at 5.1%!!! That is about as close to full employment as can ever be had - there will always be a segment of the population that can't or won't work....It would also seem to me that the closer you get to the point that nearly everyone who can or will work is working, that the number of "new jobs" would naturally start declining. I know we've had a heck of a time finding qualified people to add to our sales staff at my work, and my hubby's P.O.E. (manufacturing) has been struggling for more than a year to find good hires for everything from entry level to executive.
And the previous month almost three typical months worth of jobs were created?
Is it my imagination or does Ms. Pee bear a strong resemblance to the loony bride, Wilbanks?
Our unemployment rate is the lowest in the world. We absorb a million immigrants per year every year and we still have half the unemployment of the average EU country.
