I do not know a lot about the investigations of the Communists while Nixon was in Congress, but have read Ann Coulter's book "Treason". Looking at who is calling him a hero and hates Nixon, I get the feeling something is related.
I understand their hatred of Richard Nixon. I am wondering what role did Mark Felt, play in the investigations of the communists, or he have any role with the communists. If anyone who did lots research on this; is reading this please express your thoughts about the relationship or possible relationships, Communists investigations and Mark Felt. I am ignorant about this, but have a feeling about it all
Interesting. I wonder is some enterprising young pup could do a detailed expose' of the facts Woodward overlooked, changed..what files he saw...the relationship to any J.Edgar Hoover files through Felt....turnabout is fair play. Not that anyone in the media would report it.
Also the idea the Carl Bernstein is anything put a no talent putz (while Woodward is merely mediocre)..what a stroke of career luck for those two hacks.
Unbelievable.

As a politician, I wouldn't touch Pat Buchanan with a ten foot pole, but he used to write some good columns, and this is another.

There is no one with better perspective on Watergate-Vietnam and the ability to communicate it than Buchanan, no matter how we disagree with his opposition to taking out Saddam Hussein. Good post.

This piece shows why Buchanan still has some admirers; he comes out swinging and scores a first round knockout. This is as good or better than Coulter at her best. It's too bad the Buckaroo has so many critics in FR.

Mark Felt was, and probably still is, a snivelling little snitch. No one, other than partisan Democrats apparently, respect snivelling little snitches.

Pat hits a home run. I can't think of any other 'voice' in the last 20 years that has been more correct about immigration, NAFTA, GAT, and all the consequences. This guy was a 21st century prophet

From the full article: "The Post was scooped on the outing of "Deep Throat" by Felt's family. Understandably. The Felts resent that Woodward and Bernstein got rich and famous, while 91-year-old Mark, who did the dirty work, is feeding pigeons at the nursing home. The Felts now want their cut of the swag. Deep Throat was right, "Follow the money!"
LOL I love good writing, and Buchananan has a flair.

Pat overlooks that 'Watergate' voided the people's huge choice of Nixon and Agnew. Unelected Rockefeller Republicans [aka RINOs] pulled a takeover in the person of Ford and Rockefeller himself.
The democratic will of the people was thwarted by this takeover and that was the greater crime. Nixon should have finished his term, for which the American people elected him, and then tried by the Judicial system.
Washington is still polluted by the unelected trying to void the choices of American voters.

For it appears Felt swiped the research for the Post's Watergate stories from FBI files, while Woodward did rewrite and Bernstein was on the coffee-and-Danish run. Now this is funny.
It is also good satire because it is partly true. Even journalist who worship the dynamic duo of Woodward and Bernstein confirm that Bernstein was not a good writer, he wasn't even a fair writer. Woodward did all the heavy embellishing and fairy tail writing. They snicker behind Bernstein's back today because he hasn't written a decent piece in 25 years.

Ah, so Woodward and Bernstein were not the great investigative reporters they were touted to be after all. They simply stood there in one spot and took notes. They deserve to go to the buring lake for what they put the whole nation thru.

BTW...what is a "chalk hill"?

In 1960, they thought they buried him in Cook County, when the graveyard wards came in for JFK. I'm usually not the biggest fan of Pat Buchanan, but he nails it in this piece.

Good article by Pat.
Thanks for posting it.
There will be careers made on books reassessing the Nixon/Watergate media shenanigans. What goes round, comes round indeed.
Hope I live long enough for the same thing to happen to the Clinton era media shenanigans.
