Interesting. I wonder is some enterprising young pup could do a detailed expose' of the facts Woodward overlooked, changed..what files he saw...the relationship to any J.Edgar Hoover files through Felt....turnabout is fair play. Not that anyone in the media would report it.
Also the idea the Carl Bernstein is anything put a no talent putz (while Woodward is merely mediocre)..what a stroke of career luck for those two hacks.
Unbelievable.
There is a saying what ever goes around comes around, I smell a bigger stink in this story. More yet to come out I think that will not make these guys look so good. With many sources of media today, we are not limited in perspective.
" I wonder is some enterprising young pup could do a detailed expose' of the facts Woodward overlooked, changed..what files he saw... "
James Rosen of Fox News is the go to guy there, for Watergate .
He has a book scheduled to be published July 06 from Doubleday-"The Strong Man: John Mitchell, Nixon and Watergate." I assume they will push up the publication date.
I found an interesting article- have only had time to scan it briefly- The American Journalism Review, Sept 04 " Watergate Revisted." This link may or may not work- http://www.ajr.org/Article.asp?id=3735
It's very long, but, very detailed and is not kind to the WP and the media of that era .
" Watergate prosecutor SeymourGlanzer believes that an official in the FBI's Washington field office leaked details of the Watergate probe to other reporters besides Woodward and Bernstein
but that only the Post published them early on because of its larger ongoing "struggle with the White House."
" CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite falsely implicated White House aide Patrick Buchanan in money-laundering."
I guarantee there was no apology or retraction.
