The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat
Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
Expert: Al-Qaida Has Presence In South Florida
Full Story

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "MOSCOW (AP) -- Russia and China are joining forces in a bid to dethrone the United States as the top medal winner at the Summer Olympics.

"To beat America we need to unite our efforts and knowledge ... to achieve better results in swimming and track and field, where they [the Americans] are strong," Russian Olympic Committee chief Leonid Tyagachev told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The national Olympic committees of both countries reached an agreement to help each other surpass the Americans' medal count at the 2008 Beijing Games."

Zayeer was about 40 minutes away from boarding a plane before he was arrested, police said.

I note Mohammed was in the US ARMY. Questioning wisdom of Mohammed being in the US ARMY, although I'm certain his allegiance would be to the US, although kidnapping his children and heading for that outbound plane begs to differ...(end of sarcasm)

Menger hotel bar which is within short 100 Yard walkin distance of the Alamo.

Would that be left or right, north of south of the Dillards store next to the Alamo (a woman's gotta sale shop....)

There are numerous historic missions in the San Antonio area that were just as fascinating to my husband and me as the Alamo was. You should be able to download locations on the net. You would probably be able to walk your puppies as there weren't many people there when we saw them and it was quite relaxing. There is also a chain of barbeque restaurants (can't for the life of me remember the name) that served truly excellent chicken, sandwiches and pies. It's been in San Antonio for years and years.

I think we do not realize how many false drivers licenses there are out there.

A few months ago, they busted the Arizona Drivers License Department and our local radio was saying that there were so many arrests, the the entire department was closed and not
to go to them for a couple days.

Las Vegas also had a problem, there were several arrests there.

From the amounts of money involved, it is not a surprise that Americans would cheat, after all most of the U.S. will tell you that we should love the terrorists and they will go away.

Wood in Iraq has hired bounty hunters to track down his former captors, promising to eliminate them one by one.

IMHO bounty hunters are long overdue for finding terrorists in this country and others. I say pay them whatever they need to do the job and let them have at the jihadis and their leaders.

I think most of us DO realize granny how many fake DLs are out there.
The government is just catching up with our realization.

As an aside, no one I know loves, likes, or endorses terrorism/terrorists.
In my opinion, most Americans would agree with this statement.

Even though I posted that story; I doubt the bounty hunters will get too far in a foreign country, unless of course; the bounty hunters are native to that country.

That said, I doubt sovereign countries will welcome bounty hunters.

I could be wrong.

We'll see.

Well, Field Day is all wrapped up at our house.
Even the dog is dog tired.

Note: The following text is an exact quote:

President Bush sends greetings to Field Day 2005 participants (Jun 22, 2005) -- President George W. Bush has sent greetings from the White House to everyone participating in ARRL Field Day 2005. "I send greetings to those celebrating the annual Field Day for Amateur Radio, hosted by the American Radio Relay League. Across our country, radio plays a vital role in relaying important information to the public and emergency service personnel in times of need," the president said. "By providing emergency communications at the federal, state, and local level, licensed Amateur Radio operators help first responders and law enforcement officials save lives and make our country safer. Your efforts help ensure the right assistance gets to the right people at the right time. I appreciate all ham operators who give their time and energy to help make our citizens more secure. Your good work reflects the spirit of America and contributes to a culture of responsibility and citizenship that strengthens our nation. Laura and I send our best wishes." An annual exercise aimed at developing skills to meet the challenges of emergency preparedness as well as to acquaint the general public with the capabilities of Amateur Radio, ARRL Field Day takes place this year on Saturday and Sunday, June 25-26. Stations throughout the Americas may participate. [White House Photo by Eric Draper]

Why?

Why would an Army man who just came home from Iraq, try to
move his small children?

Where was he going?

What was the hurry?

Did he know that something is going to happen in that town?

Of course, it could have been a big fight with the wife and
no other reason..........right......Mohammed.......

Top Zarqawi aide killed in US attack

Another one down. "Top Zarqawi aide ‘killed’ in US attack," from DPA, with thanks to Eschwapp:

AMMAN — A senior member of Iraq’s Al Qaeda branch was killed recently in a US crackdown on insurgents in the Iraqi town of Qaim near the Syrian border, a Jordanian newspaper reported yesterday.
Khalid Suleiman Darwish, better known as Abu Alghadiya, was among those killed in the operation, the daily Alghad quoted “well- informed sources” as saying.

Abu Alghadiya, a Syrian dentist married to a Jordanian woman, was described by Arab media as the ‘number two’ in Iraq’s Al Qaeda network and tipped to succeed its leader Abu Musab Al Zarqawi....

According to the Jordanian paper, Abu Alghadiya and Al Zarqawi were among the founders of the ‘Syria Warriors’ group in Afghanistan in late 1999.

They later moved to Iraq, where they founded the “Monotheism and Jihad” faction before declaring allegiance to Osama bin Laden and joining Al Qaeda terrorist network, the report said.

Soldiers Discover, Neutralize IEDs in Afghanistan

American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, June 25, 2005 – Coalition forces discovered and neutralized four improvised explosive devices June 24(in Afghanistan, Combined Forces Afghanistan officials reported today.
The devices were discovered as coalition forces maneuvered across the country. Two of the IEDs were confiscated, and explosive ordnance disposal personnel destroyed the others.

"Afghan and coalition forces routinely find these devices in Afghanistan," said Army Lt. Col. Jerry O'Hara, a spokesman for Combined Joint Task Force 76. "Our forces are getting better at spotting the signs of their presence. ... (The IEDs) often are turned in to us by Afghans who are tired of the senseless violence that they cause."

According to O'Hara, the devices usually are placed and detonated by individuals with no real animosity toward coalition forces.

"We often find that the person who places the device or attempts to detonate it is motivated by nothing more than money or fear of reprisal against his loved ones if he refuses the terrorists' demands," he explained.
