no url just yet:

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Indonesian soldiers were searching for five cars believed to be carrying explosives constructed by a Malaysian member of the al-Qaida-linked Jemaah Islamiyah terror group, Koran Tempo newspaper reported Monday.

The alert was issued to troops in Indraymayu district, in West Java province, a local military chief told the paper. Koran Tempo said the source of the warning was a military telegram that gave details of the cars, including their makes and license plate.

Rumors spread by cell phone text messages that identify particular cars as carrying explosives often circulate in Indonesia, but have previously been dismissed as hoaxes. An Indonesian military spokesman declined immediate comment on the report.

Close to 200 have now been released but the movement’s main leaders remain behind bars...

Guessing even the leaders will be out before long (despite whatever wrongdoing they are involved in) noting the following:

SNIP: The Egyptian Muslims, who make up 94 percent of the 68 million people of Egypt, are as varied as they are numerous. Some are rich; some are poor. Some are rural; others live in cities. But three common interests bind them together despite wealth, age or location: the Nile River, Islamic religion and valued relationships.

The man was part of a group of five or six Middle Eastern men discovered during the follow-up inspection of a faulty sprinker. they found drawings of city tunnels and subway entrances on notebook paper. There were also several fake identification belonging to the man taken into custody. The other men then fled the building.

This is actually news, but we'll never hear about it on the alphabet TV stations evening news shows, nor will our newspapers report it. The only place we'll know such things is right here. Wouldn't want to offend the ME population or its activist defenders you know!

Just another reason profiling should be reconsidered (does the town Lodi ring a bell?) Thanks for posting it!

"Military hunt cars carrying bombs"
From correspondents in Jakarta
June 13, 2005

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The newspaper said its source was a military telegram in Indramayu that carried details of the five suspect cars.

The chief of the Indramayu district military command Lieutenant Colonel Bambang Heriyadi had confirmed the memo, Koran Tempo reported.

"All military personnel have been ordered to be more watchful and vigilant in monitoring strangers. This is an early prevention step against bombing threats," the paper quoted Colonel Heriyadi saying.

He said all five cars had Jakarta-issued licence plates."

ARTICLE SNIPPET #2: "Indonesian police have warned that Azahari and Top, alleged key members of the al Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiah militant network, are currently recruiting people and planning another attack."

You're on a roll...and so I'll roll right with you here, because if we were thinking like the no-a-clue crowd; we know that porn is just another form
of free speech and we have to know that free speech is a right and porn is
no one's business because it's a victimless crime, ad nauseum ,etc. (/sarcasm off).

I do know that dhs, like all government agencies have
employees that are working hard and others that are hardly
working.

...and so it goes.

"Canadian teen "unhappy" living in U.S. found guilty in bomb case"
09:04 PM EDT Jun 13
BETH GORHAM

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CP) - A Canadian teenager painted by U.S. authorities as being an angry boy with a hatred for Americans was found guilty Monday of two charges involving a threat to blow up his school.

Travis Biehn's case has ignited fierce debate in this affluent area near Philadelphia about how much risk he truly posed and if he was treated fairly in an emotional climate following the Columbine massacre and the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

"What we have is a juvenile's bizarre behavior of reporting a bomb threat in the bathroom and laughing about it," said Judge Kenneth Biehn, who's not related to the 17-year-old.

"(He possessed) a lot of material in his house which was capable at some point of manufacturing an incendiary device. Under the law, one doesn't have to have one.""

It is my understanding that THEY believe MoHAMed and Jesus will be on the temple mount as friends to fight evil. LOL

No. There is a widespread belief in Islam that the Mahdi and Jesus will win over the world for Islam. The Mahdi is not Mohammad, but a ruler who will conquer first the Islamic states and later the rest of the world, conquering Dajeel the author of evil in the process and ushering in a golden age. (This story is not mentioned explicitly in the Koran, but in the Hadith which are considered to have much less authority. Consequently many Muslims reject the belief outright).

If all of this sounds familiar, it should. It is lifted directly from the Christian book of the Revelation of John, except that in some respects the Mahdi appears to correspond to John's Antichrist and "Issa" (the "Islamic Jesus") to the False Prophet. Apparently whoever orginated the Islamic legend (presumably Mohammad or one of his close associates) knew the rough outline of John's narrative but didn't have the book in hand and got the story garbled. In the process, the Jesus figure from John's Revelation gets conflated with his False Prophet, and perhaps also with John's Two Witnesses.

Clearly the two stories draw from the same pool of apocalyptic literature that was common in the Middle East in ancient times.
