ARTICLE SNIPPET: JERUSALEM Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists left two bags filled with explosives in a suburb outside Jerusalem, and attempted several times to infiltrate the city to collect the explosives and carry out a large-scale suicide bombing, security sources told WND.
The revelation follows recent comments by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas that the era of suicide bombings is over.
Israeli forces recently arrested an Islamic Jihad terrorist responsible for orchestrating a suicide attack that killed five Israelis outside a Tel Aviv nightclub Feb. 25. Upon interrogation, the operative detailed a pending suicide operation in Jerusalem to be carried out by terrorists from the central West Bank, security sources said.
The information led to the arrests two weeks ago of five Islamic Jihad members, including Iyyad Ahmad Hussein Fawajra, 27, a resident of Bethlehem who tried to lead two potential suicide bombers to Ramot, a Jerusalem neighborhood, to carry out a suicide bombing on a bus or at a coffee shop.
The bombers, Fawajra admitted, were to use two bags of explosives he had hidden earlier near a Jerusalem checkpoint."

Mr. Brad C. Deutsch
Assistant General Counsel
Federal Election Commission
999 E Street, N.W.
Washington, DC 20463
Re: Draft Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Internet Communications
Dear Mr. Deutsch:
Please accept these comments on the proposed rules for FEC regulations of Internet Communications (11 CFR Parts 100, 110 and 114) pursuant to Notice 2005-10.
Please note that we are requesting to give public testimony at the hearing scheduled June 28-29, 2005.
FreeRepublic.com is an internet based electronic bulletin board owned by Free Republic, LLC, in Fresno, California. James C. Robinson of Fresno is the principal owner of Free Republic, LLC
FreeRepublic.com was founded in 1996 as a forum to discuss and expose the crimes of the Clinton administration and to further conservatism.
FreeRepublic.coms mission statement is: Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!
Since its founding, FreeRepublic.com has been a pioneer in online political expression in America. It is one of the most popular and influential sites on the Web. Its Alexa.com rating is the 1366th most popular Website. In contrast, the liberal blog DailyKos.com is ranked 5386th and the liberal forum DemocraticUndeground.com is ranked 4,108th.
The content on FreeRepublic.com consists of postings by registered account holders (over 200,000) and Mr. Robinson. The postings can be news articles, commentaries, personal observations, and calls to First Amendment activities such as demonstrations and e-mails or phone calls. Members post from all over the United States and the world.
There are also repostings of campaign literature, links to 501c3 and 501c4 organizations, 527s and an occasional campaign Website. Those links are provided without cost and at the discretion of Mr. Robinson.
Links to such organizations are done so free of charge. FreeRepublic.com has no paid advertising. Its budget consists solely of donations by members and lurkers. There are no membership fees or dues. The postings (except private messages between members) at FreeRepublic.com are open to all to read without membership. Anyone with access to a computer and a modem can read FreeRepublic.com.
FreeRepublic.com is not a blog. It was founded several years before Blogs came into existence.
FreeRepublic.com has been called a modern day Liberty Tree, where concerned citizens use modern technology to exercise their First Amendment rights. FreeRepublic.com has been credited with helping to cause the impeachment of President Clinton. The phrase broken glass Republican was coined by a Freeper on FreeRepublic.com during the 2000 election. FreeRepublic.com was also instrumental in exposing the fake Bush National Guard documents that were used by CBS News in a story last fall that tried to influence the 2004 presidential election.
FreeRepublic.com members also report news. For example, the explosion of the Columbia space shuttle was first reported on FreeRepublic.com.
The Internet has proven to be an invaluable tool for average Americans to get their voices heard by those in power. FreeRepublic.com is read by leaders in all branches of the federal government and political parties. It is used as show prep for talk radio and as a research tool for reporters and authors.
Given that the First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech and petitioning of the government, citizen Websites like FreeRepublic.com should be exempt from FEC regulation. If the FEC grants exemptions for public communications to Blogs, electronic bulletin boards like FreeRepublic.com should be given the same exemptions.
Members who post comments and articles, etc. on FreeRepublic.com are anonymous unless the poster identifies themselves. This anonymity is a central point to freedom of expression on the Internet. Just as whistleblowers like Deep Throat hide in anonymity to protect themselves from retribution from those in power in the government, so do posters at FreeRepublic.com.
Any effort by the government to force the disclosure of posters identities to meet some draconian federal regulation would have a chilling effect on free speech, especially if that speech involved advocating for or against political candidates.
FreeRepublic.com has an internal private message system similar to e-mail that can be used to communicate privately between members. Such a system should not be regulated by the FEC, as it is a free service.
The free dissemination and reposting of campaign material on the Internet should be exempt, including links to campaign and party Websites should be exempt from regulation.
Mr. Robinson, and the posters at FreeRepublic.com are very concerned that after this first step by the government to rein in free speech on the Internet, more attempts will follow. We strongly urge the commission to respect the First Amendment rights of Americans.
Very truly yours,
Kristinn Taylor
Spokesman, FreeRepublic.com

HITLERS MEIN KAMPF BECOMES BESTSELLER IN TURKEY
By Mark Ellis
Senior Correspondent, ASSIST News Service
GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO (ANS) -- The infamous manifesto penned in prison during the 1920s by one of historys greatest despots has become a bestseller in Turkey, a troubling sign of increasing anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism.
Since January, Mein Kampf has sold more than 50,000 copies, rising to number four on the bestseller list. The book outlines Hitlers plans for world domination and his intense hatred of the Jewish people. (Pictured: Mein Kampf book cover).
A lot of people in the West dont realize this has always been a popular book among radical Muslims, says Steve Hagerman, founder of Turkish World Outreach. They think its a tragedy Hitler didnt win the war, he notes. This is symptomatic of growing anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism in the country.
Hagerman is concerned about a resurgence of conservative Islam in Turkey, which he believes is promoted and funded by Iran and Saudi Arabia. Turkey is a different place right now, Hagerman observes. The military, the radical Muslims and the secularists are becoming more and more anti-American, he says. Literalist Islam is teaching the Muslims to hate the Jews and to hate democracy.
Their belief in Muslim eschatology is that the world is destined to be conquered by Islam, he adds.
Hagerman recently finished the book Christianity and Islam: the final clash, by Robert Livingston. Livingston sees Islam as a major player in the last days, Hagerman notes. While Hagerman doesnt agree with everything in the book, he is intrigued by Livingstons assertion that the anti-Christ may rise out of Islam.
The Book of Revelation teaches that those who dont submit to the anti-Christ will be beheaded, he notes. That is the common practice of radical Islam for those who dont submit.
Pray that this worrisome trend toward radicalism will come to an end through the proclamation of Gods Word.

"North Korea to help Iran dig secret missile bunkers"
By Con Coughlin
(Filed: 12/06/2005)
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Iran is secretly negotiating with North Korea to build a network of underground bunkers to conceal its clandestine nuclear weapons project.
A team of construction experts has arrived in Teheran to conduct a survey of Iranian requirements. It included a senior North Korean specialist in underground construction who helped to design the bunkers that contain Pyongyang's illegal weapons programme.
Current talks centre on whether the North Koreans will undertake the work for the Iranians, or act as advisers to Iranian construction companies.
The North Koreans specialise in the equipment and technology used in the construction of underground complexes. In the past, the Communist dictatorship has supplied tunnel-digging equipment for military purposes to Iraq, Syria and Libya.
The legal department of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, which is undertaking the project, recently summoned the managers of dozens of construction companies to discuss possible contracts.
The disclosure that Iran is continuing with its efforts to conceal details of its nuclear weapons programme comes as the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations-sponsored nuclear watchdog, prepares to publish later this week the latest report by its weapons inspectors into Iran's nuclear programme.
"The Iranians are clearly feeling the heat over their attempts to build a nuclear bomb," said a senior Western intelligence official last week. "They are desperate to keep the bomb-making part of their programme secret." Iran insists that it is interested only in developing peaceful nuclear energy, but American and British officials are convinced that Teheran is working on a clandestine nuclear weapons project."

thanks penguino, those sat pics are amazing.
Thanks for the link to the ehem article. Could they be any less specific? Any idea where they found this contaminated animal?
LOL
I wondered the same thing.
Probably goes something like this: Or else we'll KEEP demanding that Zarqawi turn himself in. ;-)
Not quite sure, Jerseygirl.
It was a strange post...could mean nothing, but I brought it over anyway.

The abbasid empire caliphate was centered in Baghdad. I was thinking their rhetoric implied that Zarqawi had some sort of plan for that region, to destabilize it further... and gain control of the city. I would guess the chances of that happening are slim to none... but, that was my take.
Would anyone have a link to a picture of Hamid Hayat of Lodi?
I've seen his pic on TV and can't find one online.
