At the risk of sounding a bit less than properly politically correct, Ms Nooyi's speech is proof positive that one can take the woman out of the Third World, but one can't take the Third World out of the woman.
True, but we could see the same kind of speech (and often do) from legions of our own home-grown leftist lightweights. One need only spend some time around almost any of our university campuses to imbibe much of the same sort of mushy nonsense....
About a week ago, I typed a leter to Steve Reinemund (the CEO of Pepsi) and asked him many of the same questions.
I explained that I was a Pepsi drinker (I really am) but that I was gonna start on a boycott of Pepsi products 'til I received a satisfactory explanation for Ms Nooyi's comments.
I fully expect to receive the lame Investor Relations form letter.
Pepsi is gonna ride this out. As far as they're concerned, Ms. Nooyi's "apology" is satisfactory. They know many of us disgruntled GOP'ers will eventually come back to the farm and life will be good again.
We need more people like Major E to keep pecking away at Pepsi.
I wonder which continent got to be the thumb, that great symbol of both "good job" and "hey, I need a drive".
I have two words for Mzzzz. Nooyi.

Not me.
Sure you do, Mizzzz Nooyi, sure you do.
It is seriously doubtful that you could climb to such dizzying corporate heights in the country of your birth.
The thing that really bakes me about this is that if this was some environmental wacko liberal group issue, Pepsi would be bending over backwards to placate them.
If I was the CEO of Pepsi, I would be donating large sums to the USO and issuing apologies galore, even if it meant humiliating the axe wound who gave the speech...
Agreed. Every time I see their cutesy little red white and blue cans I will know it is only marketing.
They are playing with fire supporting Nooyi the anti american.

We drink about a 12-pack of Pepsi products here every day. Let's see, 3.35 x 30 is just about $100 bucks a month they won't be getting from us anymore.
bttt
bump
I forget, has Coca-Cola done anything heinous lately? If not, then the good Major could drink Powerade without qualm - their flavors taste better, too.
Is this a great country or what?
ain't nuttin' finer than RC with a little Jim Beam
I was a Pepsi addict - I was good for a 12-pack a week. I love it, but I've switched to Coke for the duration. I e-mailed them and got the same limp form letter. They just don't get it.
Coca-cola offers benefits to same-sex couples, for one thing.
Good for you.
Our boycotts won't necessarily be felt by Pepsi.
But it's important enough for me that a company like Pepsi gets none of my disposable income.
