Only this President would hold the umbrella for someone else! What a guy! Just gotta love him. If only the media were truthful about him, he would be admired the world over. Thanks for the great dose!

ODDS & ENDS:

LIVING IN THE PAST
http://www.polipundit.com/

"The media and the old Democratic Party, that is.

Ahem.

So, let me see if I have this straight.

Presently, the lead spokespersons for the “Party of the People” are:

1) The former Governor of Vermont (pop. 600,000; 99% white), whose presidential campaign blew apart like a Ford Pinto after a rear-end collision.

2) The guy who wanted “peace at any cost,” but who then lost 49 out of 50 states to the evil Tricky Dick.

3) The guy who somehow managed to lose to Chimpy McBushitler, despite a historic wealth mania, 3.9 percent unemployment, a late hit by the partisan media, and a job market so freakin’ hot, kids right of college were being granted five-figure “signing bonuses” and stock options too.

4) A former KKK member and currently-senile U.S. Senator from West Virginia.

5) A guy who drove his car off a bridge in a drunken stupor, killing his passenger, but who then waited for about 14 hours before even reporting it to the police.

6) A former stockbroker, current limosuine liberal, and space-cadet Junior Senator from Cal-ee-forn-ee-ah.

7) A multi-millionaire socialist who made his leftism bones cutting a scathing mock documentary about his state’s largest employer, and a company upon which literally millions and millions of Americans have been able to retire.

And people wonder why they’ve not won a national majority in 29 years, despite the media, academia, and dead felons voting six times in multiple precincts!

And people also wonder why they’ve gone from holding upwards of 270 U.S. House seats to holding barely more than 200 seats – in less than 15 years!

Sheesh.

Harry S. Truman is rolling over in his grave.

Hat tip: Ironman/Wizard.

-- Jayson"

GERMANY
http://www.polipundit.com/

Gerhard Schroeder’s Red Coalition has fallen to 28% in the polls. As you know, that is a little bit above Jacques Chirac’s 24% approval rating.

Bush was re-elected.
Daschle was defeated.
Democrats lost more seats in the House and Senate.
Ratzinger was elected Pope.
Howard was re-elected in Australia.
Blair was re-elected in Britain.
Chirac and Schroeder are going down in flames.
The UN is staggering under the weight of scandal.
The European Union is sinking.

Meanwhile, somewhere deep beneath the White House, Karl Rove, the mastermind of it all, sits, monitoring the situation, and preparing to achieve complete world domination.

You know, the sad thing is that some, in fact, many Democrats probably believe this.

Looks like Condi has made some nice changes in her look. This hair style is much better than the short flip and this suit is better than the boxy, senior citizen banquet suits she was wearing.

It's very humbling to see all of your prayer notes, unasked for. Snugs, thank you for mentioning it. I am doing MUCH better but only since you all prayed. I made it to my mentoring session, and it was very productive, but I think mostly because we have built up a relationship and she had projects that really interested her. What I mean is, if I had felt this badly earlier in our getting acquainted, it would not have been a good thing, but she did great. She finished four projects today, and was very happy about all of them. We have one more session before school ends. At times like this I see the importance of being faithful under duress. I am doing much better now -- stronger.

I haven't read through the Dose but my monitor landed me on your post at 159 - yes, Cox does have to be confirmed. Fox News had an interesting panel segment on this. Donaldson was, as they put it, very heavy-handed on enforcing the Sarbanes-Oxley (sp?) law on regulatory practices; Cox is expected to ease up and make the markets a bit more balanced.

Chris Cox has had an exemplary career and has always struck me as squeaky clean and a very right-minded (LOL) conservative. Being involved in intelligence committee work, he's had access to our gravest national concerns and has always conducted himself honorably and in our best interests, as far as I can tell.

I hate to see him leave the House but I know he would not take this position unless he knew it was the right thing to do.

He is truly a public servant.

Good evening all!

Beautiful recap of the first Lady's trip snugs. Much more meaningful to see all of them in one place. Very nice.

I like the direction Condi is taking her hair! (I know, it's shallow)

Anyway, thanks again for all the hard work on these dose threads. I always enjoy them, even when I don't have time to post!
