Besides bumming everyone out around here, what's the newsworthy, relation to current/world events in the constant posting of random child death stories??? "Child dies in swimming pool", "Child dies in drive-bye shooting", "child dies while choking", "child dies while wearting seat belt." , "Toddler burns to death while...."
enough already.

I think you're looking for the Better Homes and Gardens website. This is a news site.

The great thing about FR is that I don't have to click on the link.

Because we learned during the 90's that everything that democrats and Klinton did was "for the children".

I especially don't like all this talk about terrorism. It's scary. Why do we insist on finding Bin Laden???
To: ladyjane
Yeah, and all those downer stories about people being killed in riots, and battles and stuff. We should just post happy stories.

It's one of the oldest dirty tricks of debate. Taught to me by a college debate instructor: link the other side's position to dead babies and you win. Everything can be linked to dead babies eventually with a little creativity, and doing so gives you a big leg up on the other side. It's a great appeal to emotion that makes your opponents look mean.

Bookmark the links to the non-News boards here at FR and you can avoid looking at headlines that are disturbing.

I know what you are saying. I avoid them, but sometimes I just have to turn off FR for several days at a time because it gets too depressing.
It is rarely very well coupled to the purpose of FR, but some people just seem to get off on that sort of thing.

That 9/11 thing made me feel bad. We should just forget about that.

hey smart guys, if the death is related to general new-worthy topics NO PROBLEM.
why is it necessary that we know about EVERY random accident related horrendous death of a child here.
Im sure there's other websites specifically devoted to this sort of thing if that's what gets you off.

I especially don't like all this talk about terrorism. It's scary.I hate the articles about carny people. Small hands... they smell of cabbage.
