WASHINGTON Vice President Dick Cheney says he's not running for president in 2008. So his wife has a suggestion about who should run.
Lynne Cheney says maybe first lady Laura Bush should seek the nomination. On C-N-N's "Larry King Live" scheduled to air tonight, Mrs. Cheney says, "If we want to have a Bush dynasty, let's get Laura Bush."
There's been speculation that Governor Jeb Bush might run for the White House. And, some Democrats support former first lady, and now-Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
During the interview, the vice president says he's not planning to run for any office after his term expires. Cheney says he's "got other things" he'd like to do.

Well, that is a way to keep the same family in the white house for a while. Laura is definitely better liked that Hitlery.
Possibily, might be a good idea???

OMG!
Wouldn't that just fry Hillary and Billy, right along with the rest of the Clinton Crowd if Laura ran and won??
Not to mention President Bush would STILL be in the Whitehouse.
The laughing (at the Clintons) would be endless!
At least by me.

I don't think that Laura has the temperament to be president.

They say a person with underlying character could grow with the office. Still, I think to be President or even to think you ought to be requires arrogance and the ability to be spectacularly harsh at times. If Laura possesses these qualities in sufficient quantity, she has so far hidden it.

300 million people in America, and this is the best the Republicans can come up with?

Why not Barbara Bush vs Hillary? Now that truly would be a fun race.

The thought of Hillary in the White House gives me chills.

I'm not sure why our first ladies think they can get socially ushered into the office and then inherit the ability to lead the country. As if these guys entire life hasn't been about being groomed and sweating for the job. Makes me lose respect for their intellect.
Ms. Bush would do fine in a Honky Tonk with a two drink minimum telling horse jokes though /sarcasm

I love Laura Bush but I hardly think she has the qualifications to be President.

I love Laura Bush, but this whole run the wife when the husbands term is over thing is getting old.

Laura Bush certainly would not be the worst choice out there. And it would be nice if the first woman president was a Republican. But, there must be other choices.

300 million people in America, and this is the best the Republicans can come up with?Hey, don't lump all Republicans in with the one's controlling the party. Certainly there are good Republican women out there that would do a fine job. The problem is, the party establishment will never let them see the the nomination.
