Here's a post-script you may like.
O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!
O thus be it ever when free-men shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: In God is our trust!
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
"America" is watered down drivel compared with The National Anthem based on a great event in our Second War of Independence. "America" is the National Anthem of the politically correct. No bombs, shooting, or any of the essentials that go along with any successful struggle for freedom against a tyrant.
Just my thoughts.
From your brother in the Corps, Semper Fi!
It's when our returning soldiers after having known and seen their beloved comrades-in-arms bravely and selflessly die on foreign fields in the defense of this Great Nation only to return to it and find it under an unarmed invasion with Old Glory's stewards simply looking the other way.
This has been told to me by more than one returning soldier.
It stings to the core.
Thanks for the ping!
"Unfortunately, we are just as guilty of the Utopian heresy as other nations--perhaps moreso. After all it was our president Wilson who destroyed Christendom in his quest to "make the world safe for democracy.""
I agree, but let's not forget Roosevelt who tried to turn this country into a socialist s***hole and awarded Eastern Europe to mass raping communists.
It's a tactic of the left to say things like "The Nazis were patriotic, so Republicans are Nazis." How often do we here rightists saying, "Hitler was a vegetarian, so caring about animal rights is for Nazis." Not that I agree with the standard right position about the issue of animal rights (you could call me a liberal as far as that's concerned, I guess), but you see my point.
It's such a cheap strategy by using the historical stock villain - Nazis.
Roosevelt set the ball a-rolling when he replaced the original Bellamy salute (incidintally also the civilian salute of the Nazis) for the Pledge of Allegiance with the effete hand-over-heart salute. The beginning of Orwellian redefinition of culture.
You're 'up and flying' again!!
That picture deserves an "Allahu fubar!".
"What is best in life?" To crush the jihadists, to drive their collaborators before you, and to hear the lamentations of their mullahs!
LOL!
