As the debate in Congress deadlocks over the nomination of conservative judges appointed by President Bush, a left-wing lobby group mocks the Catholic Church with a vicious ad. The ad appeared on MoveOn.Orgs web site last week, showing a doctored photo of Pope Benedict XVI in front of the U.S. Supreme Court building with outstretched arms holding a gavel in his left hand.
An offensive caption above the Popes picture reads:
God already has a job ..
He does not need one on the Supreme Court
Protect the Supreme Court Rules
MoveOn.org is playing God. They apparently want to erase God from history, eradicate the Ten Commandments from the public square, and impose a dictatorship of radical atheism. However, slamming the Catholic Church will hardly garner them more political or grassroots clout. They are out of touch with the real American landscape of dwindling blue states and booming red states.
The ad has outraged and disgusted Catholics nationwide. The Pope is the Vicar of Our Lord Jesus Christ on earth and no one has the right to poke fun at God, the Church or the Papacy. This is no light matter and the American TFP calls for a massive protest. When the Vicar of Christ is attacked, all Catholics must react.

MoveOn.org owe Catholics an apology, said TFP Student Action director John Ritchie. Even if the ad was pulled off their web site, the offense was made, and Catholics deserve an unequivocal written apology.

You are fortunate to get the image. The ad was taken down when I tried to access it yesterday.
It's now on someone's blog.
Well it certainly shows exactly of whom MoveOn.org is afraid. ;o)
Long live Pope Benedict XVI.

It will work against them.
Those who question the work of God don't tread a path.
He does not need one on the Supreme Court
This is an absent minded ideal which creates the question "then who does"?

From what? The good, the bad, or the ugly?
God IS the ultimate Supreme Court
The Church in America has been a tool of the liberals for some time. Support of socialism combined with lukewarm pro-life attitudes and action emboldened Catholic Dem politicians to play to their party's left wing. Bernardin thought, as McCarrick and still others do, that the "seamless garment"theory would rule Church teaching. Happily, the laity will never go for that.
Believe me, I understand. One of my "continuing irritations" is people who get easily irritated.
You will find that the majority of the leadership of MoveOn.org are non-Christians who do not reserve their hatred for Catholics but spread it around.
Alternately, the rank and file are mostly the uneducated, the bewildered, and the uninformed who take their cues from their puppet masters.
The chaos you mention is the result.
St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle!
Thanks for the info!
The graphics are a good match for Move On's ham-handed, extremist message!
Somebody should remind the scumbags at moveon.org that this sort of ad was also run against one of their heros, John F. Kennedy. IIRC, the sayings were "we can't have the government of the US run by the Vatican!"
Which congress-critter was it who pretty much said that devout Catholics (or for that matter, any observant Christian or Jew) can not be appointed to the SCOTUS? They only want people who only give lip-service to the tennents of their religion.
I don't remember if it was Schumer, but I'll say it anyway: He makes me SICK!

The Dems so do not get it.
God IS the ultimate Supreme Court >>
He certainly is.
