The following is a letter from one of our members with some very good advice for helping to hunt out organizations which support terrorism:

Some of what you suggest is low level Intel, and any concerned citizen of average intelligence can do it with very little training.

Low level:
1) Look up a local Islamic organization.
2) Go down to your local Islamic center, and try to find out about Islamic groups in the area.
3) Try to find pamphlets, or books that local Islamic groups are distributing among their people, and then take these home to analyze them for anti-American sentiment!
4) Pose as an American who wants to find out more about Islam.
This pose should reflect moderate to casual interest, not enthusiasm. Expressions of curiosity, not strong interest are innocent and simple enough to be consistently followed by the citizen.
5) While talking to Muslims, Note the difference in attitude of rank and file Muslim to Muslim leaders. Asking questions about the differences and similarities between Christian and Muslim belief are only OK if you do not try to defend Christian beliefs. It takes real talent or training to be able to defend your beliefs without becoming overtly hostile.
6) Do not engage Muslims in arguments. Use non-committal phrases like "oh, I did not know that" or "That is interesting".


Borderline Mid level:
1) Ask what the Islamic representative's position on Hamas is.
2) pose as a person studying Islam,
3) FIND OUT WHO IS SUPPORTING TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS HAMAS...
4) Ask what charities this Muslim group currently supports.

Mid level Intel gathering:
1) pose as whatever you can to get the information.
2) Pose as a person who is interested in becoming a Muslim, or finds Islam to be an attractive world view.
3) Ask them if they support the ideals of Hamas.


Training:
It is important that you brief people before sending them out to do Mid level and even Borderline Mid level Intel work. Telling them things like
1) Look out for people who say they "Support the liberation of Palestine"
2) Use caution in speaking to people who try to defend the words of OBL. Make sure that you do not let the Muslim know how you feel about Osama Bin Ladin by using "non-judgmental" language.
3) Look out for people who Support Hamas as a humanitarian program that distributes food, medicine and clothing to people.
4) Look out for people who Support Hezbollah as a Charity group.

Send the names and information on any organizations you find suspicious to the UAC, we will analyze them and if they are found to be in support of Anti-American sentiment, we will work to take them down.

FReepers: I'm trying to find out all there is to know about Muslim organzations, apologists, and that sort of ilk in the state of Washington.

For instance, in Mount Vernon there is a "meeting place" (if not an underground mosque.) There are muslim women in black dresses that come into the Skagit Valley Food Co-Op on a regular basis. Being liberal the employees and regular customers think this is wonderful because it demonstrates "diversity."

There are several (don't know how many) muslims settled here in Skagit County, ranging from convienience store folks to physicians.

Let's do a good thorough work up on muslims in our state and when we have provable facts start spreading the word. Some good word spreaders would probably be Stephan Sharansky of soundpolitics.com, and of course conservative talk radio.

The awareness raised and lives saved (in all probability) will be our own.

What you are proposing can be very dangerous.

People that don't know what they are doing can get hurt, sued, or arrested.
