JAKARTA, Indonesia - Two bombs exploded Saturday at a busy market in central Indonesia, killing at least 19 people and wounding 20 in a volatile region marred for years by religious fighting, a police official said.
The twin blasts occurred in the morning in the Christian-dominated town of Tentena, said Police Maj. Riky Naldo, deputy chief of police in nearby Poso, the coastal town where fighting between Muslims and Christians has claimed hundreds of lives since 2000.
He said two policemen were among the wounded.
Police in January discovered 60 homemade bombs stashed in an abandoned house in Poso, about 35 miles from Tentena.
Poso, about 1,000 miles northeast of the capital, was a major battleground in fighting between Christians and Muslims four years ago on Sulawesi, where about 1,000 people were killed and thousands of others displaced.
Large scale clashes have died down, but over the last year the island has seen an increase in attacks and bomb blasts.
Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim nation, but central Sulawesi has roughly equal Muslim and Christian populations.
But at least the bombers only murdered 19 people -- they could have tossed a Koran in the john. That would have been serious!
I sure hope one of the victims wasn't carrying a Bible. Who knows what kinds of riots that could set off!

I'm in Jakarta as I write this, and it's MIDNIGHT Saturday night (in Tentena it's 1.00 am Sunday morning). I have just been on the phone with Tentena. The village of Sepe, one of the last Christian strongholds has fallen and is being looted, destroyed and burned to the ground by the jihad terrorists, even as I type and the village of Silanca is under attack. Reports from the fleeing villagers state that military units have joined in with the jihad terrorists in attacking the villages and the fleeing villagers who fled to the military barracks in Kawua are being turned away by the military even as I type this email.
Boo Boo. My crocodile tears flow for Indonesians.

Point being Tentena is apparently a nexus of anti-Christian jihadi terrorism and murder. And it's nowhere near Jakarta.
