A shame. He used to host the St. Pat's Parade on TV when I was a kid.
Loved him in "The Longest Yard," but even moreso in "Hustle," where he played a corrupt lawyer/pornographer modeled on F. Lee Bailey.

Gone to the big farm in the sky.

I admire him if only because I never heard him utter a political opinion.
Off to greener acres.

Star of one of the funniest TV series of all time.
Dandy overall actor who never took himself too seriously.
Lived to age 99.
That's a good life in anybody's book!
RIP, Oliver ...

Coolest. Persian. Ever.
Rest in Peace.

More than anything else (and I loved Green Acres), he should be remembered for his bravery in rescuing Marines during the battle for Tarawa.
Rest easy, brave sailor.

Rest in Peace old soldier
Mr. Albert was a great hero in WW2
During the bloody assault on Iwo Jima he , as a Navy corpsman
or some similar MOS , saved many many US Marines , pulling many out of the drink while under direct enemy fire , I believe.
This humble man deserved every accolade he ever received in his long life for his selfless and brave actions in his youth.

If he was born in April 1908, he would be 97, not 99.
