WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democrats said they hoped the Senate's vote to delay confirmation of John R. Bolton as U.N. ambassador would force the White House to release long-sought classified information about the embattled nominee, or perhaps to pick someone else for the job.

In case you haven't heard - THE STINKING LYING DEMOCRATS HAVE ALREADY SEEN THE DOCUMENTS - at least the top 2 senators from the Intel Committee. And .. according to Roberts-R (the chair) has even given a statement about the documents. And .. since the top democrat has already seen the documents - there is no reason for the rest of the democrat senators to see them; which the top dem already knows. These are highly classified documents and not just any senator can have access to them.

The documents are NSA documents and Bolton was just doing his job. The democrats are FISHING FOR DOCUMENTS THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE FOR NATIONAL SECURITY REASONS.

The democrats know this .. they know they are asking for things they are not allowed to see - and they are still kidding themselves that WE DON'T KNOW - as usual.

THE DEMS ARE JUST A BUNCH OF LYING STINKING SACKS OF PUKE!

That's why I've been asking the agenda of 'menos and senateforcaster' who keep saying we should just give the dims whatever they want.

Well .. I heard the statement from Roberts - in a video on FOX. He was not happy about the dems demands.

They both (in this thread) keep saying we should give the dims whatever they want, so we can get on with the vote.

I'm just agreeing with you that the dims have already gotten everything they're going to get.

That's correct .. and Negroponte has already said NO! to the document request due to the sensitive nature of the documents.

Please keep in mind that all the people demanding the documents already plan to vote "No".

This is just obstruction. No matter how many documents are provided they will just ask for more documents, more clarification, more explanation, the goal is to tie him up with red tape and run out the clock.

Well, he got elected because he said that he could do a better job saving Ellsworth than the Daschel. All politics are local, remember. He is looking at the voters in his home state. Look, If they move the Lancers from Ellsworth to Texas, they could move IN something else to Ellsworth, to keep it open. That's how Cannon AFB survived the BRAC in 92. They moved a squadron of EF-111s from Mountain Home ID to New Mexico because of the political muscle in NM.

Me? I'd move the 16's from Cannon AFB to Ellsworth. I think that Thune is trying to make a point. Perhaps someone will listen, make a deal, and he will change his vote. We shall see.

He just may get his way because the F-16's would be a great swap. I heard that 10% of what was recommended will be saved -- maybe Ellsworth will be saved.

Well .. it doesn't matter what the democrats want .. they are not going to be allowed to see sensitive national security data .. period!!

I don't care WHO THEY THINK THEY ARE - they still won't get the documents. And .. they're lying anyway .. because Rockefeller has already SEEN the documents the dems are having such a fit about. Surely .. they are deceiptful enough they would ask Rockefeller what it said - and surely he would tell them.

Interest in the "common good" is not even in this issue so I don't know why you're bringing it up now.

I hope that the Pentagon moves something to Ellsworth. Thune is a good man, and if the pentagon cuts Ellsworth, we may lose him in 2010. I'd rather see the pentagon cut one of the Naval stations in Main and have the bobsey twins mad at bush than lose Thune. We shall see.

As an aside, the base I retired from (SJAFB NC F-15E) escaped the BRAC. Pope (A-10) is moving out to Moody and an Army post is taking over Pope; so even if the AF can't move a system into Ellsworth, it may be able to be recycled and saved for another service, like Pope.

If the Democrats bottle this up - Bush should just leave the seat open, or even close the UN mission until Bolton is confirmed.

Best idea I have jeard yet!!!!!!

SJ used Kelly AFB as a staging area when a hurricane was about to hit so I took the kids down to Kelly to see all these planes parked side by side. I have been to SJ -- neat base.

Brunswick NAS is losing their P-3's to Jacksonville and the Portsmouth Shipyard is closing. My daughter and son-in-law are assigned to Brunswick with the P-3's.

There are F-16's moving everywhere and I am not sure there is room for some of them at places where they are being sent.

Is there a website or thread that gives the entire list of base closings? My sister-in-law works for the Mountain Home AFB commander.
