Are we all equal on FR?

I wonder if the rules on this forum are applied equally? Several weeks ago I was denied posting privileges because I jokingly advocated a "plan b" in fighting the so far failed war on illegal immigration. My "plan b" was to have border guards retreat to within 200 yards of the border and while fitted with night vision goggles simply drop any illegals attempting to gain access to America.

Now frankly I am not concerned with the fact I was denied posting privileges for a day(reason given was "advocating violence")but I wonder if the folks who post pictures of exploding nukes over text that calls for turning the middle east, or N Korea into a glowing heap of slag. were also denied the ability to post. I did a cursory check and found the names of the posters associated with the nuke threats posting regularly after the aforementioned posts appeared.

Is it possible that some are more equal then others here? I have been referred to as a "newbie" as if that somehow makes what I say less credible then someone here a longer period of time. I believe opinions are opinions and the length of forum membership does not serve to make ones credibility stronger.

It does seem that there is a "good old boy's" network operating here and the old timers are given more leeway as far as the rules then are the newer arrivals. While I have been a FR member for only 8 months I have been an avid political forum debator for 8 or 9 years on places such as the NYT, WP, LAT and others.

There was another incident in which I was accused of a personal attack although I was merely responding to an attack on myself. I never used profanity and merely responded in kind to another whose main complaint was that I was wrong in criticizing the post of another person because that person was a 5 year member. I was also told I didn't know what I was talking about. This resulted in a few back and forth retorts which I frankly found amusing and in no way took as an insult.

I thoroughly enjoy verbal jousting and never shrink from a confrontation. It appears that others see fit to run to the moderator at the first sign of getting back what it is they dish out. It is at that time that I believe the good old boys network comes into play.

If any of you would like to see the posts that caused this simply ask and I will happily post them.

In reality I am posting just to save the thread. Later when I get home I will copy the kitty nuclear blast picture on post 7.

As for are we all equal, of course not. How silly a thought. I am much better looking than most people here. I am extremely smart and modesty alone prevents me from posting a picture on my home page for fear of shaming all the lesser males.
Free Republic for me is the most widespread and fascinating source of news there is. It is a bulletin board on the rest of the world. While the emphasis is on conservative politics it encompasses a wide range of interests. I am on a Catholic ping list, a space ping list, a farm ping list, a Mark Steyn ping list and a new art lecture ping list (Thank you republicanprofessor) None of this allows me to post stupid opinions without getting jumped.
We all start with an equal opportunity to post. That is not the same as equality of outcome. I don't post because I really don't have anything original to contribute..... I mean I don't want to shame anyone with my superior intellect. But when I find something of interest I will throw my two cents in. Usually clearing up the matter for everyone. Like now.
But you should know that some people can't learn. Some people will demand the Confederacy wasn't about slavery, that Catholics are evil, and that police are jack booted thugs. You can argue with them but you won't do anything but suck up cyberspace.
Now originally you think it's hunky dory to blast some illiterate schmuck trying to get here to pick lettuce or roof houses. You could argue that there are a lot of criminals coming in here too. So maybe you just knee cap them and then run their names in the computer. If they are just lettuce pickers then they will be that much closer to the ground after the amputation.
Or, how about this. Why don't we simply enforce the border with the same professional ability that we police much of America. We reinforce the border with the military until we get the problem under control. The Minuteman project seemed to be working well without a high body count. Maybe we should get our officials to try a little more of that approach?

As for the rules on Free Republic, I only very rarely disagree, but when I do I realize I am a guest here and remember my manners.

Hey Jim. Thanks for honoring me with the response. I don't take well to threats and especially from one, who as the owner of this site should know better. If your taking this sort of an attitude towards me puts you in some sort of a Viagra induced state then so be it. Personally my feeling is that while I had a few chuckles during my time on the forum I have a life, unlike others here, including yourself. So, in keeping with my Dad's philosophy of never taking shit from anyone, especially when it's in the form of a threat and from someone who seems to think he represents the second coming of Christ, I'll simply end this by telling you to take your forum and stuff it.

Better get back to work, Jimbo, I hear you're setting up a huge get together of all the true believers and you're actually gonna do the "walk on water" thing.
