TIM ROBBINS ON THE MEDIA
MSNBC HARDBALL? | 05/25/05 | FGS

Posted on 05/25/2005 8:18:16 PM PDT by ForGod'sSake

I was channel surfing when I happened to catch Prissy Matthews interviewing Tim Robbins actor/activist(sic)(scraggly beard and all).

The discussion moved to Hollyweird generally, and Prissy asked Robbins about the monolithic liberalism of Hollyweird(the question from Prissy a bit of a shocker in itself).

Paraphrased:

Tim: I don't see Hollyweird as monolithic in its politics, and there is essentially a full spectrum of political beliefs there.

Prissy: Then why is it that everyone we see and hear from Hollyweird appears to be liberal?

Tim: Must be the media.

What, I says to myself?!?! Here's this bleedin' heart from Hollyweird basically saying the media has/is creating what appears to be an industry/cultural political monolith in tinseltown(say it ain't so).

Holy cow! I held my breath waiting for followup.

Still waiting...

Prissy never blinked an eye as he moved on to more important things, whatever they were. I was still waiting for the media comment followup and never heard another word.

Now, media bias is nothing new to us around here, but this coming from a bleedin' heart in such a casual manner left me flabbergasted. Still am.

Read it many times! How does it connect to TRHPS? Anyway I can stomach the music as long as I don't have to look at that ugly piece of non-cinema.

Have you seen her on that makeup commercial? There is NO WAY that that video hasn't been retouched.

Yep. I'm sure it was. She was just never even remotely physcially attractive. In 'Bull Durham', Robbins stil looks like he's being seduced by his one of his mother's friends.

Ol' Pud Nose made a faux pas when he accidentally played narc and fingered his media enablers. No major roles for him this year, methinks.........'Go to your room, young man!'

He calls himself libertarian. He was on Oreilly and said he supported the Patriot Act.

a libertarian supporting the patriot act is like babs streisand sending a check to the NRA

He's probably referring to Ronald Reagan, Charleton Heston, that woman at Playboy who got fired and a few others in Hollywood who are Republicans.

Well, consider too, there's a few Freepers in the area who deal 'em some misery occasionally. Since he's on the front lines of liberal activism, he likely runs into conservative protests more than most.

My thoughts when I saw this was how often do you see a card carrying liberal even casually accusing the media of maybe having a dog in the fight? I was really waiting for the other shoe to drop. What an opportunity to pursue a subject near and dear to my heart; Prissy drops the (hard)ball.

Welcome. Did you ever work with that dope from L&O and 'Full metal Jacket', Vincent D'Onofrio? I heard he is such a leftie that there are signs hanging on the set that under no circumstance are you to talk politics. He disrupts the set so much with his barbra streisnad that the producers don't want any such talk.

... Tim Robbins is divorced from reality.

But, but, but he's married to insanity!

He's apparently no dummy. Ever see 'Dead Man Walking'? It's an intelligent film.

I've never considered acting ability and intelligence one and the same.

He didn't act in it he wrote and directed it. And that is a sign of intelligence.

If they are such good actors, then why can't they act intelligent? ;)

Maybe Tim really did become Einstein when he let his hair grow out. I really don't know. I've only seen him a handful of times.
