Punish the Senate Filibuster Compromisers!
I'm sure you've heard about the so-called "deal" put together by "moderate" Democrats and Republicans in the U.S. Senate, which will stop Sen. Frist from putting a halt to the Democrats' unconstitutional judicial filibusters but will allow a few of President Bush's nominees to be voted on and confirmed. Seven Republican turncoats shredded the Constitution by cutting a deal allowing a "super-MINORITY" of just 14 Senators to block or confirm any nominee. Real conservatives - hard-working, patriotic, Americans who love our Constitution and believe it should be upheld - are VERY ANGRY about this "deal".
In Rhode Island, we're targeting Sen. Lincoln Chafee for defeat in the Republican primary. Chafee has a likely conservative opponent: Cranston Mayor Stephen Laffey. In Maine: Sen. Olympia Snowe for defeat in the GOP primary. We've got a great candidate to support against her: State Representative Brian Duprey, a conservative Navy veteran and homeschooling father of five. Ohio: Sen. Mike DeWine for defeat. There are no declared candidates running against DeWine in the Republican primary -- so we're going into Ohio and working with conservative organizations to RECRUIT one who can WIN. Nebraska: Democrat Sen. Ben Nelson is targeted for defeat. Nebraska is a solid "red state" -- President Bush won the state with 66% of the vote in 2004, and Nelson squeaked by with just 51% of the vote in his last election. In West Virginia, we're targeting Democrat leader Sen. Robert Byrd for defeat. West Virginia is another good "red state" -- President Bush won the state with 56% of the vote in 2004 (a 100,000 vote margin), and Byrd's standing in the polls is at its lowest in years. Are you ANGRY about what these people did? Then HELP US throw the bums out of office.

Thanks, I think.
I share your conviction.
Well now there is a great plan. Do nothing. Don't vote, stay home. That will SURELY make a difference. Why not just go over to the DU and change party affiliation. That will surely guarantee a voice in the future for our children.
Or is this how they thought we would react? (tin foil hat on). -
re: mcstain
In another thread someone posted this comment: "Benedict Arnold was wounded while fighting FOR America. No one remembers him for that."
Quick question:
I see the "tin foil hat" reference every now and then...what exactly does that me...
Thanks, clueless.
I am not sure what McCain has done warrants the title of traitor to his country? Does it?
Same like you. But will spring for $ for people who go after these weasels. I would be happt to get LG or Warner... that would satisfy me :)
What other of his "votes" have brought this much resentment and moaning?
I know he's pro-choice. But he is on the right side of many other issues.
Thanks.
I'm trying not to blow my stack about this deal. If I read all my posts here since Monday, I would probably think I was schizophrenic.
I posted a long post on this thread already describing my feelings. (Talk about therapy!) All in all I still think the deal made things worse, but all I can do is hope things EVENTUALLY work out. Before time runs out.
Part of the frustration may be that people just don't understand why some of the folks they support "turn" on them. Maybe the DU folks feel that way too. Although I hate to make ANY comparison.
I try never to write anything here that I wouldn't mind the whole world reading. because they could! :)
I hear ya... and am thinking the same thing.
It pains me greatly, because I like my GOP representation here in GA.
I honor him for physical courage in winning the Medal of Honor. Politically, he has no b@lls. He likes being patted on the head by the New York Slimes
Understood.
I won't trash McCain's military service. I just won't.
But it doesn't give him a pass for life. He can be, and is, wrong on this issue.
Agree, service or disseervice to his country 40 years ago is not relevant, e.g. Lincoln saw no combat while Grant did, but which was the better president?
But unless Senator McCain thinks he outranks Senator Frist, he didn't follow the chain-of-command. Insubordination in itself should result in some sort of discipline, if Senator Frist was not involved, and we know he did not sign the `agreement'. (And that term brings up questions of authority and delegation, or not.)
That's what I meant by the quote from the other thread (sorry, can't remember which thread)
Just saw your post...
I think we agree on this issue. I understand why people feel they have been failed. In a sense they have. But the greater danger, I believe, is the split of the party. McCain is not the person most conservatives want as a president. His time to pay should come when and if he runs in 08 (at the primary level).
If he should be the nominee, which looks doubtful, but you never know, I would hope that people would chose him over the democrats that are being mentioned as potential candidates.
Oh well, rant over.
