At the press club, Mitchell said Moyers' reporting on campaign fundraising during the Clinton administration drew strong complaints from Democrats Clintoon's fundraising was so odious, that Moyer risked losing every shred of journalistic integrity if he didn't report on it. Reporting on Clinton's scandals did not mean that PBS wasn't biased.

Pat Mitchell has come a long way. I remember her when she was a young, bubble-headed infobabe on local Boston TV news.
To: JewishRighter
That is just unbelievable! No wonder we have problems.

"PBS does not belong to any one political party," Pat Mitchell said. Well, that's true. There's the Dems, the Greens, the Socialist Workers Party....

Despite what people think, PBS stations are run by individual companies that are awarded contracts to run the PBS station, the companies themselves are for profit. With 800 satellite and cable channels out there, there is no longer any justification for subsidizing any of their content. Not to mention they show commercials now, so whats the difference between PBS and every other media company?

She's right. It's not one party.
It's the Democratic party. The Green party. The Labour party. The Socialist party. The Nazi party. The Communist party. The Liberal party.

"PBS does not belong to any one political party," Pat Mitchell said. Of course not. That's ridiculous. It is shared by the Democrats, the Green Weenies, the Feminazis, the American Socialists, the International Workers of the World, the Communist Party of America, the Black Panther Party, the Tupperware Party, the Gaggle of Loons, Four Calling Birds, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
The only group that DOESN'T have a voice is mainstream America. You know, the people who PAY for it.

"PBS does not belong to any one political party," Pat Mitchell said. Though I do recall a case of them sharing donor lists in Massechussets with the DEMOCRATS. Funny, that never happened with Republicans.

Moyers strikes me as being on the most extreme edge of radical liberalism.
I don't think it would be possibe for him to do a fair interview.
The fact that she considers Gigot as a balance to him is interesting. Gigot is a pretty bland moderate.

(So....Is means testing now a conservative value? Apparently 40% of FReepers think it is.)
To: JewishRighter
The proof is that she could only point to one feature of the station that had something she could deem as "not extremely Leftist" and therefore must be conservative.
What about all the other programs? Except for that guy in the Canadian wilderness, Proenecke. I love watching that.
But I change the channel when the commercials come on, just like I do for all the networks.

A: His mouth is open!
"Oh, pshaww! PBS biased? Hey! What's that over there?" (PBS exec scurries out the door when interviewer is distracted by her clever ruse)
PBS must be hiring the journalism school graduates whose grade point averages are too low to be employed by a for-profit business.
