Top talk radio host Rush Limbaugh called on DNC chief Howard Dean to release his medical records yesterday, after Dean said he was standing by his false allegation that Limbaugh was a cocaine addict.
"It might be helpful if we could see his medical records," the radio host told his audience. "It might be helpful if we could get Dean's medical records and plaster them all over CNN because we won't really know the truth about anything until we get these medical records."
Citing an interview last year where Dean admitted he had a drinking problem during his college days, Limbaugh said, "The reason I think it's important to see Dean's medical records is we need to know how many brain cells he lost during his drinking binge period."
Limbaugh also questioned Dean's ethics as a medical doctor.
"What kind of a doctor must Howard Dean have been to lie about somebody's medical condition and confirm the lie and then say, 'Well, you know, Limbaugh, he makes fun of people all over the place, but we all need to protect our ethical standards.'"
In October 2003, the top talker admitted he was addicted to prescription pain killers as a result of a longstanding back problem. But even his harshest critics have never accused Limbaugh of using cocaine.
According to a report last month, in a speech to Minnesota Democrats, "[Dean] did draw howls of laughter by mimicking a drug-snorting Rush Limbaugh."
Appearing on "Meet the Press" Sunday with Tim Russert, the top Democrat defended his decision to falsely imply that the radio host used cocaine.
"The problem is not that these folks have problems. They do, and they have problems in the case of a drug addiction," said Dean. "The problem is it is galling to Democrats, 48 percent of us who did not support the president, it is galling to be lectured to about moral values by folks who have their own problems."
Dean also told Russert that he is a "committed Christian" - which apparently means he as no problems with personal morals.
Correct. Dean's one and only one purpose is to pander to the far left base. He is not trying to convert independents or moderates. That is Hillary's job as she positions herself to the right of Bush on immigration and the deficit. Don't think this isn't all orchestrated.
Please, don't bring that name up, I was enjoying the read. I am working on maintaining my blood pressure and this name from the wacko left of left liberal "cHristendom". I'll forgive you tonight, but please...
I do not recall any president or presidential candidate ever releasing their med. records.
Here's a refresher of some of the presidential candidate medical record shenanigans of the past century. Includes getting sunk by past treatments (Eagleton), postponing treatment (Humphrey), hiding treatment/ conditions (Wilson & Roosevelt) & outright lying (Kennedy & Tsongas):
Are you saying that there are "committed Christians" who somehow think it is okay to abort babies? Whose side are you on here?
It's interesting to know that Dean believes Limbaugh is powerful and influential enough to deserve this kind of attention.
It says a lot about where Dean is coming from---and going.
He's setting the stage for his next gig--but I don't believe he can compete with Rush, as Dean does not have the kind of showbiz background Rush does.
I second that.
The one reason that Dean can never compete with Rush is the simple fact that Rush is appealing even to the left and he is not cruel to liberals. Rush often points out that he has close friends who are liberals and he means it, he is a good friend of James Carville even though he makes fun of him all the time.
Maybe you're right. Maybe Dean is on one of those amphetamine cocktails that President JFK got prescribed for him.
Dean's thought processes, if you can call them that, are so scattershot and scatterbrained, I wouldn't be surprised.
It doesn't matter what side I'm on regarding this topic. I'm saying there are physicians who perform abortions who are church goers, who are in leadership positions and say they have no fear of salvation because they are believers, have confessed thier faith and because of grace have no fear of eternity.
I think the modern church has fumbled the ball with the notion of grace. I'm beginning to wander if grace really doesn't mean you can lose your salvation, but grace always allows you to return.
Strange mix of statements by Rush -
"...because we won't really know the truth about anything until we get these medical records."
Then-
"What kind of a doctor must Howard Dean have been to lie about somebody's medical condition and confirm the lie ..."
Dosen't he realize ( regarding his own problems ) that "we won't really know the truth about anything until we get these medical records" applies to him also ?
He is spending millions supposedly to defend the right to privacy of records, even to the point where it could shield criminal activity.
As the conclusion of this medical records fight draws closer, the Left will sting him harder and harder on it.
If he is innocent, we gain nothing, if guilty the Left will be using him as cover for their missdeads for decades.
Open cranial lobotomy, then a quick sautee in butter and garlic.
I asked what side you were on because it seemed as if you were defending Howard Dean, which I KNOW you would never do... right? ;)
I think a COMMITTED Christian wouldn't abort babies. Perhaps a Christian would, but not a committed one.
BTW, ever get that cup of joe with El Rushbo? :>)
It was an adult beverage. :)
Dean, Moyers, et al all attack Limbaugh because Limbaugh has better name recognition than they do. Therefore by attacking them they get more press and better coverage.....it gets them noticed by the masses (RUSH FANS) when otherwise they would not get noticed at all.
