So this guy, David Rosen, has to put on a political fundraiser for his boss, a certain would-be junior senator from New York. And he's sweating, because the whole affair, a Hollywood tribute to the would-be senator's husband, Bill, is threatening to become so expensive that it can only lose money. So Rosen takes the actual cost of the event

I left a message on Kristen's machine letting her know that I would be glad to straighten her out. I have her a tip that she might want to investigate the phone call between Gary Smith and Hillary in which the candidate Hillary was negotiating the fee of the concert with Smith down to 800K. Does anyone think Kristen will do that, or will she continue sloppy journalism? Sloppy is being kind.

Still, Clinton would not be the first politician who has faced such problems. Case in point: the 1996 presidential campaigns. A vice chairman of Bob Dole's bid confessed to making $120,000 in illegal political contributions—more than half to Dole's campaign—and received the harshest penalty ever levied in a campaign finance case at the time—six months of home confinement and $6 million in fines.
========================================================

Okay, then Hillary gets sixty months of home confinement and $60 million in fines. That's proportional.

If this is such a nothing, then the Village Voice should be happy the "Hillary haters" are running with this.

This article makes me think it may not be so innocent . . .

Hillarys omission from the case makes me think that Micheal Savage may not be NUTZ when he says that the Bushs and Clintons have already put in the fix for Illary in 08.

The only missing from the Bush's and Clinton's logic is the VOTERS, thank GOD!~}

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Or so prosecutors were saying last week
================================================

Kristen, dear, pay attention. The info and receipts were delivered to the defendants in the civil case prior to the filing of the the final amended FEC report. They still lied.

The tab for talent alone hit $90,000.

“Talent” is mob-speak for hookers.

Let's rewrite this please:

"...certain would-be junior senator WITH DUBIOUS ASSOCIATIONS TO STOCK FRAUD AND MURDER...senator's husband, Bill, FORMER IMPEACHED PRESIDENT, is threatening to ...Peter Paul, a thrice-convicted felon... . "

Just so we're on even playing field here.

Oh, wait, it's the Village Voice. Never mind.....

Michael is far from nuts - he's the smartest guy on radio. He's just kind of abrasive so people diss him. But he knows whereof he speaks.

Kristen's just trying to shade this as a trivial matter.

Wonder if Kristen has been invited to the Senator's NY retreat. Bend over, Kristen.

Oh I think he's right on but he blew me away when he said the CLitons & Bushs were putting in the fix for illary in 08.

But this court case proves him right.

Or maybe it's just the case where the poor shulb goes up the river while the Rich financier walks back home to his mansion.

Maybe a bit of both. Remember the movie, The Maltese Falcon? There's always a need for a fall guy....

This is just another reminder that the ratmedia is not even close to understanding what deep shiite they are in. They actually really cross their heart hope to die, think they can just make this go away because "We say it's ok and we know better about everything." Poor nitwits, they believe their own crap.

Worst-case scenario for Clinton would be Rosen's conviction... A conviction could make for an embarrassing situation for Clinton... The campaign will have to accept the responsibility for its fundraisers. That could include paying a fine

A conviction of Rosen could get far worse for Hillary than mere embarrassment and a fine.

Jury: We find the defendant guilty, your honor.

Judge: Sentencing scheduled for June 23 at 10:00 a.m. The Court is adjourned.

Prosecutor: So Dave, have you met Bruno, your future cellmate? Yeah, 300-pound sex offender from Samoa. Used to play left tackle for Nebraska.

DOJ: Dave, we're here to offer you a deal. The choice is yours. And it's a simple choice, really: Tell us what she knew and when she knew it, or... death by bonga-bonga!

Barbara Olsen's book on Hillary nailed Hillary. How we need Barbara Olsen now . How ironic Olsen should die at thehands of bin Laden whom Bill Clinton let go.

Maybe you missed this:

Ted Kennedy brother-in-law Raymond Reggie agreed to wear a wire for the FBI in 2002 while facing bank fraud and conspiracy charges in another case. It was Reggie's tapes that captured Rosen making incriminating statements about his role in an August 2000 gala fund-raiser for Mrs. Clinton. But according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Reggie's tapes have helped instigate at least two additional FBI probes of political figures, including one involved in a "national campaign."

Reggie's "role as government informant was kept secret until recently in an effort to conceal his cooperation in at least two other unrelated investigations," the paper said Friday.

"One [involves] a state senator, and the other, a prominent political figure who may have been illegally soliciting national campaign donations from foreign nationals, according to an FBI affidavit."

Hillary Fund-raiser Tapes Spur New Probes

From what I have gathered, it may have something to do with Tendo Oto, a foreign national contributing 27 grand to this gala and attending it, which is illegal.

If she could be brought down on a more serious foreign donations charge, it would explain why they are not pursuing her in this particular case. And I have a sneaky suspicion that the Louisiana state Senator is Mary Landrieu. I found the Louisiana link in this article which was published before we knew Reggie was the informant. An excerpt:

While the informant's work for the FBI on Mr. Rosen's case dates back to 2002, the agency continued to work closely with the witness through the end of 2004, court documents indicate. The November 2004 filing indicates the FBI was planning to use the informant in an investigation of "a prominent political figure who may be involved in illegally soliciting foreign nationals to contribute to national political campaigns." The target of the inquiry was suspected of "funneling illegal campaign contributions from foreign nationals to individuals running for federal office."

There is no indication in the documents whether the "prominent political figure" who may have been soliciting illegal gifts from foreigners is the same person to whom the informant is related.

The same unidentified informant was also being asked to record phone calls with targets of an investigation into alleged political corruption in Louisiana, the court filing late last year said. That scheme involved a state senator and a "fraudulent contract worth five million dollars," prosecutors asserted.
