This letter is legitimate. I know because I helped him write it. When he asked me for help I was absolutely floored. I didn't think this day would come.
Republican National Committee 310 First Street, SE Washington, DC 20003
Dear RNC:
From the day I was eligible to register to vote I have been registered as a Republican. I have voted for Republican candidates willingly and sometimes with great pride. I reluctantly cast a vote for George Bush in 2000 despite his campaigns abominable behavior toward Sen. McCain in South Carolina. I did not repeat that mistake in 2004 yet I maintained my Republican registration due to municipal and state political activity. I can no longer do so in good conscience.
The neo-conservative agenda has made a mockery of the traditional conservative values with which I identify. A party that runs up monstrous deficits to fund an illegal war justified by deception cannot claim to represent fiscal responsibility or integrity. A party that pays overt homage to the symbol of the United States by opposing flag burning but advocates policies that rape, pillage and plunder the soil over which that flag flies cannot claim to represent environmental issues. A party that attempts to legislate sexuality, sacraments and personal medical decisions cannot claim to represent small government. A party that oppresses the poor and the weak cannot claim to represent compassionate conservatism.
I am no longer proud to be associated with a party of sore winners. Congratulations on achieving a majority in the judiciary, the legislature and the executive branches of government, but it is unfortunate for the U.S. Constitution and the people to whom you owe your power. The Republican Party is obviously not content with what it has achieved, but is bent on eradicating any semblance of a two/multi-party system in the United States. I am beyond humiliated that the party with whom I have been associated for twenty years has become a caricature of dictatorial theocratic ideologues. In your effort to instill a false sense of security among the populace against foreign threats you have managed to render us anxious about domestic tyranny.
Given the rather glaring irregularities in the 2004 presidential race as well as other state races, the illegal invasion of Iraq, the preoccupation with religious hegemony, the absurd circus surrounding the notion of eliminating the judicial filibuster, the disrespect shown to women, minorities and foreign governments I can no longer affiliate myself with the Republican Party. Today I do something I should have done six years ago. I am going to the Superintendent of Elections and changing my voter registration to the Democratic Party.
Regards,
Buh-Bye
Zotted before the first reply
That was quick!
Well, if this troll isn't a mincing poofta, I don't know who is.
I certainly hope so. Anybody that would want a madman like McCain to lead this country needs their heads examined.
Who IS StimpyNipples anyway?!
This letter from a "lifelong Republican" is like a woman impersonating a female impersonator.
Looks like you had your nipples pinched before you could even get started.
All this verbiage to basically make the same lie that the seminar callers to C-SPAN make every day in a single clause: "I'm a registered Republican, BUT..."
Second paragraph gave it away.
I tried to reply and the thread was pulled. Then, I went back to the main page and it was back ZOTTED with the first comment removed.
*Boom* goes the dynamite.
FREAK!!!!!!!
LOL~ A Mincing Poofta? YOU my friend, owe me a keyboard! Very good! I haven't laughed that hard in a week!
More of this will happen:
I'm a lifelong liberal Democrat, and a Wicca vegan treehugger. But in 2004 I voted for George W. Bush!
