Report from Chappaqua: The "Agreement" Hillary has lost the WH, forever, and more, much more..
one man's opinion....

Posted on 05/24/2005 8:09:56 AM PDT by ken5050

The compromise deal announced last night on judicial nominations will one day prove to be the opening strike in one of the greatest political battles ever waged in this country. There is much sadness in Chappaqua, for Hillary Clinton has today realized that any remote chance she ever had a becoming president has now evaporatated forever. And the Democrat party may well be in its final states of existence, its death throes, as we know it today. Follow along, as together we peel back the layers of the political onion to unearth the truth...

OK, I get it now... You really should get a job in stand-up comedy. You had us going there for a while!
BTW, you owe me for a new keyboard AND monitor because I had just had a big 'ol swig of this soft drink when I read your comment.

You left out one thing about Ace McCain - he is crazy as a loon. I don't blame him, after what he's been through. But I don't want him anywhere near any buttons.

That's your choice. I was constructing a political scenario to see if it was viable..IT is..and it works..I've always enjoyed your comments..and find it hard to belive that when push comes to shove, when it's Hillary v. McCain for the WH..you will be sitting on your hands..

W just guaranteed the 7 RINO's will never, ever be elected again....

I disagree. After all, W campaigned for the lead RINO, Arlen Specter. Most of the RINOs come from states with a dearth of conservatives, so it will be hard to attack them from the right.

No way in hell I'll ever vote for McCain
Agreed. If I'm gonna vote for a Democrat, I'll vote for a real one and not a poor imitation.

I feel that way about McCain. However, as I read the article, dislike for McCain swirling about my little brain, I had to ask myself, what if it's McCain vs Clinton? I'm not going 3rd party. And joking aside, I ain't voting Dim, either.

So, like it or not, McCain could get my vote, if he got the nomination. However, that looks like a big if to me at this point.

When it comes down to it, you do make some good points. The fact that McCain beat GWB in the New Hampshire primary in 2000 means that there is some base of support he has out there, even if we can't understand it. You're right about how chummy GWB and McCain have been, and if there have been talks with Rove, then that adds credibility to your scenario.

Either you will be acknowledged as a politically astute genius, or you will have to ship me a bottle of whatever you're drinking over there in NY, we can't get anything near that strong here in Utah!

You know I said almost those same words about Billy being reelected. I ate them with pepper.

McCain is no lock to beat Hillary. Media would turn on him in a general election and bring up stories about the Keating Five ... and so would special interest groups.

McCain is too dumb (ego in the way) to realize he is getting played.

McCain doesn't have the gravitas or the brilliance of a Nixon (although I agree with you about Nixon being pragmatic and unprincipled).

McCain is a demoncRAT wearing a pubby title. What's worse voting for an announced demoncRAT or one who charades as a pubby? That's why I'll either not vote or vote Independent.

I don't get it, SP - we ARE the majority and we could become a BIGGER majority if we only support the issues that most Americans care about. Instead so many RINOS seem to be cowering in fear of the Dems. I say, give them smack down when you have the chance!!!! If we don't show some cajones now, when will we?

I think your assumptions are wrong and should it happen I would just view McCain as creating a Reichstag fire in order to pull the wool over conservatives' eyes.

The question here is, will the American electorate buy the package? That America electorate 49% of which voted for a lying traitorous POS.

We know that Freepers don't like Mc Cain, and I don't know that I trust the guy, he seems to like being the maverick and politics is really a team sport. But will the American people buy it? I think its possible, under ideal circumstances.

Then I suppose that begs the question, can Mc Cain get the nomination? Thats' a even dicier subject. There are a lot of oxes gored and axes to grind.

I might vote for Satan, but never, ever McThievintraitornutjob.

Hate to have to admit this, but for every principled conservative who does not vote for Republican nominee McCain (either through refusing to vote for President, or going third party) he'll pick up two votes from the mushy middle who feel guilty about Vietnam. They voted for Kerry last time, even though they knew nothing about his politics. This kind of voter pays zero attention to what's going on until the weekend before the general election, then he/she makes an emotional choice with all the deliberation they use to pick a fast food restaurant at a freeway off-ramp.
