Report from Chappaqua: The "Agreement" Hillary has lost the WH, forever, and more, much more..
one man's opinion....

Posted on 05/24/2005 8:09:56 AM PDT by ken5050

The compromise deal announced last night on judicial nominations will one day prove to be the opening strike in one of the greatest political battles ever waged in this country. There is much sadness in Chappaqua, for Hillary Clinton has today realized that any remote chance she ever had a becoming president has now evaporatated forever. And the Democrat party may well be in its final states of existence, its death throes, as we know it today. Follow along, as together we peel back the layers of the political onion to unearth the truth...

Interesting..........

But, IMO...it's way too early to say what will happen in the fall of 2008. Way too early....

Did you come up with this on your own? Are you a McCain staffer?

First of all, McCain's in the bag. If his father and grandfather were not 4-star admirals, he would have flunked out of the Naval Academy. Hell, he never would have gotten in!

Second, give me some proof that McCain is pro-life!

Third, it should have been the Keating Seven - McCain and John Glenn should have been included with that bunch.

As I said - he's in the bag. The media cannot wait to have him win the nomination. They got stuff saved up to smear him with. Jeb Bush? Probably a decent man but Florida is a mess! If he tries to run for VP or POTUS, the press will smear him using Florida. He could have saved himself and cleaned it up but he has not!

You lost me on the second absolute and from then on I felt I was reading something from the Onion or Scrappleface.

I've no interest in the continuance of a Bush dynasty either.

Yep. ...... '80, '84, '88, '92, '00, and '04 - years that a Bush has been on the GOP Presidential ticket - is quite enough. And now folks are talking about '08 and '12 as well? .....those with a "royalty" mindset, at least.

Re # 1..au contraire, McCain may well be the one person who can save Chaffee's seat in liberal RI..#2 isn't a BIG issue witht he voters, and re #3..he may well change his tune with the 527 group legislation..

I am NOT advocating McCain here..I am constructing a theory out of all available puzzle pieces..to see if it fits..it does..and ( this is NOT directed at you) it's impossible to have a relevanyt conversation, nor even take seriosuly, those who want Hilalry over McCain..That is just insane..

He understands human nature, strategy, and the need to think many moves in advance in the political chess game. And note his most fervent acolyte, Lindsey Graham. Though many here don't like him now..remember his performance during the impeachment proceedings. He was superb. And he has a very astute political mind.

I think of Graham and McCain as cynical politicians absent of any core values beyond promoting themselves. I don't much care who they find to run their campaigns, neither has the charm, values or connection with the base that the President has.

At least Chafee, Snowe and Collins are representing their constituents. They have earned their seats in blue states. McCain and Graham are an entirely different story. I have nothing but contempt for them. Both will pay the price for their grand personal political strategies when they come looking in our eyes for a vote.

What's that? A Republican post that actually believes we are the majority, defeat is not inevitable and Hillary is not the leftist reincarnation of the Virgin Mary?

Rare sight these days.

Well, if you're right and I see Jeb Bush and John McCain as the GOP ticket, I'm sitting the 2008 election out. Can't stand Hitlery nor Jeb Bush nor John McCain. What's a dissatisified voter to do but sit the election out or vote Libertarian or Independent?

She has solid minority support. Blacks remember the Clinton years very fondly. Yes, she is a lock.

First of all, I don't see McCain picking Jeb as a running mate. McCain's goal (and Lindsey Graham's too) is to neutralize the influence of the religious right. McCain and Graham hate the religious right.

Second, McCain didn't learn his survivor skills in the Hanoi Hilton, he survived because that is what he does best, take care of himself first. McCain returned from Hanoi, twenty pounds heavier than when he went into prison. Think about it.

Third, the only reason that McCain is prolife is because being prolife provides a sort of armor against conservative criticism, it allows him to stray from conservativism on other issues, like homosexual marriage.
