He understands human nature, strategy, and the need to think many moves in advance in the political chess game. And note his most fervent acolyte, Lindsey Graham. Though many here don't like him now..remember his performance during the impeachment proceedings. He was superb. And he has a very astute political mind.

I think of Graham and McCain as cynical politicians absent of any core values beyond promoting themselves. I don't much care who they find to run their campaigns, neither has the charm, values or connection with the base that the President has.

At least Chafee, Snowe and Collins are representing their constituents. They have earned their seats in blue states. McCain and Graham are an entirely different story. I have nothing but contempt for them. Both will pay the price for their grand personal political strategies when they come looking in our eyes for a vote.
